My name is Vladimir hellsing, those who are close to me know me as Vlad
I live with my son William in our family home on the countryside... It's been three years since I lost my beloved wife and my son can't remember her anymore. He was too young when she passed but I'm glad that he doesn't remember her so he doesn't hurt like I do, everyday he grows bigger and stronger and looks more and more like his mother, sometimes I feel she is still with me because of him......

He's 7 now and I feel that he's growing to quickly. There is a knock at the door and I go to answer it as I ponder who it could be "who's there" a man with a deep accent answered "we are consults sent by the king". I opened the door and saw two large armored men with swords at there sides "may I ask what your business is in my home" the first man replied "we are recruiting for the royal army, all strong men and boys of age seven and up are required to join by the orders of the king" I looked at my son and panicked as I thought of a lie "he's only six, and I'm his only caregiver...I can't just leave him" I looked at the man as he stepped closer to me and grabbed me "we don't appreciate being lied to Hellsing" I looked back at my son "run boy, hide don't let them get you" I pushed the man back as headed for my sword hanging above the fireplace. The men drew there blades as will ran for cover as I pulled my blade from the mantle "I won't let you take him from me"

They both came at me as the swung there blades, I blocked the first but the second met it's mark as my arm tire open and my sleeve turned crimson, I held the first man's blade to mine as I tried my best to avoid the other man's attacks. I looked back as the second man haunted his assault and went after my son "RUN WILL!" I yelled as I panicked at the idea of them taking my only child. I knocked the first man away and made a break for my son. I realized the second man had his sword still drawn as he drew closer to to Will I ran towards him and tackled him to the ground and began hitting him repeatedly as he fought back. The first man attack and I dodged as he went flying past and I heard a gasp and a shrill whine "F-father...." The room went silent and I looked up in horror as I saw William holding the blade that pierced through his chest, the only words I could utter were "no... not again...", I ran the second man through and immediately went after the first and began striking him over, and over, and over again until I could barely lift my arms. I sat down next to will and held him with tears in my eyes "no, no, no, not my son, not my William I can't lose you... Your all I have" I yelled in pain as my very soul shattered... I fell a hand softly touch my face "....f-father... I'm cold, I can't move..." I looked at him with a shaky expression "Don't speak, save your strength... You'll be ok,you'll be ok" he looked at me with eyes that said he knew I was lying them he spoke "it's ok dad... I know what's happening to me, please don't cry" he smiled at me as his eyes slowly shut and his last breath left his body "please... Don't leave me William" I sat there for hours, days, a week... I finally got up the strength to bury him, I mourned his death for days after until I became very sick. My wounds had become infected and and were decaying, I slowly lost my mind to the infection to a point were I had wondered for days until I came to the edge of a forest at the base of a large mountain... My sickened mind got the best of me and I proceeded to enter the forest not knowing what may lay before me.
