It's been a year now since I've confessed my love to Mina and it's been the most amazing year. I've been working ever since then to afford a ring for her and I'm hope that this is finally going to be my chance...
*one week later*
I walked up to jewelry maker that worked in the next town over "Have you finished work on the ring" I held a sack of gold that I've been collecting for this day as the man spoke "yes I have... A gold ring with a heart cut ruby and a silver bat protecting it" he held up the ring and was exactly what I wanted for my love "Thank you sir... This us the amount we agreed on with interest for the work and care" I set down the money and took the ring and left for home and my love
I was a mile from home and all I could do was think about what I'd say and how id ask for her hand, she thinks I've been out running errands for work.
*Mina's pov*
He left a note saying he would be gone until this afternoon and I was anxious for him to return, I had been busy preparing all of his favorite things to eat and I had gone to town to get him a gift that I've been trying to get for several weeks now and it has finally arrived, it's a silver necklace with his family crest on a gold pendent "I hope he love it". I set it in a wooden box and continued cooking waiting with my heart pounding for him...

I'm only a few hundred yards down the road from home and I'm nervous of what is about to happen, I thought of her beautiful smile and I almost immediately relaxed "I want this, I can do this... For her I'd do anything". I walked closer tho our home and I heard an all to familiar sound... The sound of archers arrow slicing through the air and striking my shoulder....
