Soaringkit's return
The sky blue white chested tom pranced along the fence from inside his yard. He moved with a high stepping gait and wobbled as he moved. Caro mewed contentedly, the 6 month kit skidding to a stop, rolling onto the ground from the abrupt stop.
The tom had Cerebellar Hypoplasia, a disability that caused cats to lack a sense of balance due to not fully developed brains. But the fact did not scare the adventurous kitten, but allowed him to enjoy the fun of rolling, not caring whether he fell intensionally or not.
"Look, its Clumsy Caro."
Caro sat up slowly, looking to the owner of the voice.
A large ragged brown cat with amber eyes sneered at him. "You okay there, buddy?"
Though the words were well, his tone suggested he was mocking.
Caro flattened his ears. He gave an irritated hiss.
"Oh, upset now, aren't you?" The tom mocked. "It isn't my fault you were dumped by the Clan because you were born stupid."
Caro leapt to his paws, trail thrashing agitated. "I am not stupid!"
But he had stood a little too quickly and tipped to the side, falling due to his lack of balance.
"Aww.. thats cute. But if you're not stupid, why do you keep falling like a newborn kit?"
Caro hissed. The tom chuckled.
"Leave me alone Mudfang," Caro meowed softly, glaring with his icy blue eyes.
"Or you'll what? Fall on me?"
Caro unsheathed his claws, throwing himself at the VineClan warrior, who swung his massive paw, catching him midair.
Caro screeched as Mudfang brought him crashing to the ground. The brown tom pressed against Caro, causing the kit to scream and wriggle. "Not so tough now, are ya?"
"StarClan forgive me if you are not punished." Caro gritted through the large paw pressed on his chest.
Mudfang growled, pushing harder. "You have no right to call upon StarClan. You are NOT a forest cat. Not a Clan cat. And NEVER will be."
He released the younger tom. "Willowwind was right to leave you with your Two-leg.
"I can be a warrior!" Caro hissed defiantly. "And I will!"
"Oh yeah?" Mudfang smirked. "When I see Blossomstar, I'll tell her a stupid kit wants to join the Clan."
"I am not a stupid kit!" Caro meowed. "I am old enough to be an apprentice of VineClan!"
"You? An apprentice?" Mudfang laughed cruelly. "You can barely stand and walk without tumbling. How will you find prey? How will you catch prey? How will you fight our enemies?"
Caro opened his mouth to speak but closed it, knowing very well the warrior was right.
"Stay with your Two-Leg, kit." Mudfang said, turning back to the forest. "Its the only place you're wanted."
The brown muddy warrior left, leaving Caro staring after him.
"I can be an apprentice." Caro muttered. "I can be a warrior."
He stared up, looking at the stars that lay upon Silverpelt. "I can be useful! And I will!"
He looked at the forest.
It was where he was born.
It was where he was taken away from.
And it would be where he would return.
