Oh no, the girl thought as she saw the two men running towards her. She saw a group of people walking down the street and she quickly walked with them, hoping to blend in.
"Where did she go?" Steve wondered out loud.
"I don't know," Bucky said as the two of them halted to a stop.
"THERE!" Steve exclaimed! Bucky and Steve ran to where the girl was walking with a group of people.
Great! They found me! The girl thought. Now what she suppose to do?
The girl did the only thing that came to her mind...... She ran.
"Hurry Bucky!" Steve yelled. "We can't loose her!"
The girl ran through the streets, avoiding getting hit by cars. Steve and Bucky followed her. Bucky almost got ran over by a car. The girl ran in an aisle that was in between two buildings.
"Bucky go left! I'll go right! Maybe we can catch her!" Steve said.
Bucky nodded and ran to the left aisle. He accidently ran into a man that was carrying a big black bag.
"HEY! WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING!" the man yelled.
"Sorry!" Bucky yelled back and kept running.
Steve ran to the right aisle. He saw the girl running through a window. Maybe he could catch her. Steve jumped over mud, sleeping people, and other things that were in the messy aisle.
Steve got to the end of the aisle and turned right. Just as he turned right, the girl appeared from the middle aisle and Bucky appeared from the left aisle. She was trapped. The only way out was through a middle aisle but it was full of water. There was no way she would go through there.
"P- please d- don't hurt me," the girl whimpered. She was breathing heavily.
"We aren't going to hurt you," Bucky said trying to be as gentle as possible.
"Yeah. We just wanna ask you some questions," Steve said. He looked at the girl. She looked like if she were hurt. And was that blood dripping from her leg?
The girl looked back at the dirty aisle. It was the only way out.
"We just want to know about you," Bucky said. "We aren't going to hurt you."
The girl turned to look at them, "That's what they said." And with that, the girl turned and ran into the aisle that had dirty water.
Steve and Bucky were about to run after her when Steve's shield fell out of nowhere.
"We thought you needed some help Cap," said the voice of Tony Stark.
"Thanks Tony!" Steve said.
"You and metal arm chase her through there and Wanda and I will chase her through the air," Tony said. "Oh and speedster will chase her from the other side with Clint." With that Tony flew off.
The girl thought that she had lost the two super soldiers but she was wrong. The girl didn't see where she was going and she tripped on a... foot?
"WHOA!" the girl fell face first to the ground. "Ouch!" She rubbed her nose. Luckily it wasn't bleeding.
"You didn't see that coming?"
The girl groaned and looked up. The person who had tripped her was none other that Quicksilver and with him was the famous Hawkeye.
"Hey guys we got her," Pietro said into his com.
Clint looked at the girl, "Look we don't want to hurt you. I swear! We want to help you. Not hurt you."
The girl stood and shook her head. "That's what they said. And they lied."
"Who said that?" Clint asked softly.
The girl didn't speak.
"We won't let anyone hurt you," Clint said softly. "I'll protect you." Clint stretched out his hand and the girl hesitated before taking it.
"Well you guys found her," Tony said, landing on the floor. "Nice."
Wanda landed next to Tony and Steve and Bucky came running next to them.
"Well we caught her," Pietro said. "Now we can take her to Fury. See what he wants with her."
When Pietro said the last sentence, the girl flinched. Clint looked at her, he wondered why she flinched.
"Pietro!" Wanda snapped.
"What?!" Pietro said.
"You're scaring her!"
"How?" Pietro asked.
Wanda looked at the girl and concentrated hard reading her mind. For some reason, Wanda couldn't read the girl's mind. Something was blocking her.
"Come on let's take her back," Tony said.
"Wait," Steve said. "How did you all know know about her?" Steve hoped that Phil hadn't told Fury about their conversation.
"Well," Tony started, "Fury overheard your little conversation with Phil and so he told us to find this girl and we saw you and Bucky chasing her so we decided to help you two."
Steve cursed under his breath. How dare Fury eavesdrop on his and Phil's conversation! He was going to have a talk with that guy as soon as they got back.
"Agent Hill come pick us up please," Clint said into his comm.
That was it. The girl took that chance to run away from the Avengers. She wasn't going to be experimented on again.
"Oh great!" Tony exclaimed.
"Never mind Maria," Clint said.
"Well let's go," Tony said flying to the air to go chase the girl.
"Scott, Nat, I think we need you two now," Clint said again in his comm.
"Copy that," Nat said.
"Be there in a sec," Scott said.
