Chapter Five

I woke up early and go straight to the kitchen. There's a calendar hanging on a wall. I look at it and suddenly remember something. Its 23rd of July. "Its my birthday" I said to myself. I don't really celebrate my birthday. Before,it was my very special day. I feel a lot of excitement and eveything, but not anymore until that incident happen. It became my worst nightmare. I just can't celebrate on their dying day. I just give out a sigh and go in front of a stove and start cooking something for breakfast.
"Good morning" Its Sam and she go straight to the kitchen to take a peek on what I'm doing.
"Hey,morning" I don't look at her and still concentrating on what I cook. "Let me help you prepare for our breakfast" she get the plate and stuff needed and place it on our dining table. And when I'm done I serve the food on it.
"It looks delicious! I can't wait to eat what you cook for us" Sam said with excitement like a kid.
"Its just an egg,bacon,and hot dogs. Nothing special about it" I prepare the common breakfast.
"What are you up to ladies?" Cody pop up in a dining area as well as Ram behind him.
"Well,Avril prepare some delicious breakfast for us" Sam said and smile at me.
"Really Sammy? Oh great! I thought our breakfast is going to be pancake again. Thanks to you Avril!" Cody tap my shoulder and look proud while looking at Ram.
Ram don't say anything and just sit beside me.
"Let's just eat" Sam said. We started to eat and I look at Ram whilst drinking my hot chocolate.
"So how was it?" I ask him.
"Its fine just like my pancake" He answer and nod.
"Let me correct it. Its better" Cody said while putting the hot dogs into his mouth using his fork.
"Oh yeah!Its better so let me have this"Ram get all Cody's hotdogs.
"Hey! Its mine!" They were like a kid acting like that. I just smile while looking at them.
     Its already evening when Ram get inside my room.
"Let's go outside"Ram said.
"Where are we going?"I ask and suddenly get out of my bed.
"Anywhere,I just wait you there"
I just nod and when he left my room, I start to find clothes and change. When I'm done I go outside and he's already on a car waiting for me. I hop on and he start to drive.
In a bit,he stop the car in a park. He get off the car as well as me. "Why did you brought me here?" I ask while following Ram.
"You've been in our house for a week and did'nt even bother to go outside after that incident" he explains then he go inside the place where many trees where there.
"Its my choice not to go outside,'cause I don't want you to worry about me anymore" he stop and we finally reach the place. Its a small tree house with a ladder and lights in every branch of it.
"How was it?"he ask while looking at it.
"Beautiful" I answer with amazement.
"Come on" he start to walk and go straight to a ladder carefully until he reach the house. He look so surprise when he saw me already there.
"How can you-- Oh I forgot your a vampire" He give out a smirk. I just laugh at him. I sat near the window and feel the cool wind. I just close my eyes and heard Ram walk near me. I open my eyes and saw him looking at me.
"This is the only place I feel at peace" he still looking at me.
"Yeah,I also feel that. Thanks for bringing me here" I smile sweetly and look away.
"This is one of my favorite place. I come here since when I was a kid. When I feel like to be alone"
"But why did you bring me here with you?"
"I just want you to relax. I feel sorry 'cause I already ruined your life just to help me"
"Its okay. Don't feel sorry about it. I should be the one to thank you for bringing me here on my birthday" he look at me when he heard what I last said.
"Its your birthday? Why you didn't tell me? so that we will celebrate it or prepare something for you"
"I don't celebrate my birthday since that incident happen. Its been a hundred years when I last celebrate it"
"What happen?"
"Bad things happen when its my birthday. July 23rd 1900 when my parents die and I turned into a vampire. I think it wasn't right to celebrate when its their dying day" I still look far away and try not to look at him while I telling him my reasons why.
"Everyone deserves to be happy,its your birthday. Its the day when your mom brings you in this world and your dad first saw you. I know they don't like to see you thingking like that"
"I just can't. This was the day when I think and miss them the most,I always wish that time machine could be that possible. I always wanted to go back from the time that I still can feel their warm touch against mine" My voice crack and there some tears starting to fall down from my eyes. I feel his hands on my cheek wiping off my the liquid coming from my eyes. I look at him and I can't help it I burst into tears and started to cry. He hug me and caress my hair.
"I don't know what I can do to cheer you up,but you can cry with me whenever you want. I'll be here" He still holding me and I felt secure in his arms. His warm embrace brings comfort in me.
"Thank you" He hold my face and look at me sincerely. I feel his face come near me little by little until it reach my lips. My heart throbs so fast and he kiss me so gently.His lips so soft and warm. And after a moment he distance again and smile at me.
"Happy birthday" I feel my face turns red because of what he did. I don't feel something like this before and I admit I liked it.
We decided to go home after that. We saw something in front of our door. It's a gift. I pick it up and we get inside the house. Ram look outside as if expecting someone was there before he close the door.
"Who left that gift in our front door?" Ram ask and start to look puzzled.
"I don't know,but It has a note with it. It says "Happy 126th birthday, enjoy your special day"
I was so surprise because it knows my birthday and how old I really am. Who could it be? I open it and saw a box in it. I open the box and started to play music with a girl slowly turn around. Its a music box.
"It was the music box I received on my 10th birthday" I don't know what to feel,I still don't have any idea who brought this thing at my place and how he get this?
"What? How is that possible?"
"I still don't know Ram"
