Transmission from the bible belt.
When I first came to live in the Sydney Hills, I had moved from a quiet existence in Adelaide, South Australia. It was a hot summer in New South Wales. I had moved into a two story mass manufactured house with my family - my three younger brothers and my soon to be separated parents. And suddenly, we found ourselves in the middle of a strange kind of fervor that I had never before experienced. Here in the suburbs, there were a multitude of faithful people who somehow just knew that God’s love would pay off the mortgages on their own two story houses, and the loans on their pristine white Four Wheeled Drives.
They were in their own world, in the houses surrounding Windsor Road, the neighborhoods like Castle Hill and Bella Vista. Man Made lakes were the only places to watch the lights shine on the water late at night when life became too much to bear…
