Mariana's P.O.V.

"May I take a seat?" He asks smiling and pointing to the empty high stool on my left.

"Sure" I smile back. He sits and looks at me smiling.

"I want to apologize for my indiscretion, and my friends' as well. I didn't mean to stare earlier."

"Oh hmm... It's okay, to be fair I think I was staring as well..." I smile embarrassed and looking down from his gaze. Now that he is close to me I can perfectly see his face, his eyes are green and his smile is even prettier up close. He has these deep and sexy dimples when he smiles. I definitely know him from somewhere, though.

"I'm Mariana by the way" I say smiling.

"Very nice to meet you Marianne" He answers handing his hand out for a handshake.

"Mariana" I correct him giving him my hand. "With one N." I smile and he does as well doing an overreacted surprised look.

"Oops, sorry about that MariaNA, with one N." He says smiling and prolonging the A. "You can call me Edward" He takes my hand and instead of shaking it, he turns it around and places a soft kiss on the back of it. What a gentleman...

"So, are you here by yourself?" He asks.

"No, I'm not. I mean, I am, but just for now. My friends who are supposed to meet me here are running late."

"Oh I see... So do you mind if keep you company until they get here?"

"I'd be flattered" I smile. This is an awkwardly polite conversation.

"What were you having?" He asks looking at my empty glass of gin.

"I was having gin, and now I have been trying for a while to call the barman to order another one, but I'm failing miserably." I frown and he laughs.

"What is your favourite gin?" He asks.

"I don't really know actually. I'm kind of new to this gin trend and I usually just order Bulldog."

"Alright, then if you don't mind, I would like to buy you what, in my opinion, is the best gin on the market, for you to taste. Okay?"

"Sure, bring it on!" I joke. He leaves for a while as he goes to the other side of the bar and chats to the bartender, he then goes to his friends and talks a bit with them and then goes again to where the bartender is, and comes back with two gin glasses.

"Here. Taste it. It's quite strong, I hope you don't mind." I take a sip of the cold beverage with an apple slice in it.

"Wow! It is strong! But it's amazing! Hmm I can feel so many different flavours! Thank you very much for the recommendation!"

"Really? Do you like it? If you don't it's okay, I can buy you another drink, anything you like."

"No! Don't be silly! I love it. I really do! What is it called?"

"Williams Chase. I'm glad you like it. I'm not much of a gin man myself but I really love this one."

"Yeah, now I know what to order next time I come here." I smile. He smiles as well. I still have the feeling that I know him from somewhere and it is really annoying me. "I'm sorry Edward, have we met before tonight? Your face is very familiar but I can't tell where from." He looks down at his glass and after a bit he answers with a smile:

"No, I don't think so. I think I would remember you. You are quite memorable." He says with a charmy smile. He has a raspy and sexy voice and speaks slowly, as if he is thinking about every word he says.
