Harry's P.O.V.

After scrolling down my twitter feed filled with messages from concerned fans (who don't even know what happened) I look at the time, it's 6:52am. Mariana should be waking up.

I get up and walk to the ICU and into Mariana's room. She is still sleeping. I move the chair that is in the corner of the room to the left side of the bed and sit on it looking at Mariana.

I lean on the bed, take her right hand with my left hand and with my right hand I continue scrolling down my Twitter feed.

Somehow, the fans and press already know that it's not me but Mariana who is ill. Everyone is already speculating that something happened to the baby. I don't even know how I'm going to do with the fans and press... Should I tweet saying what happened? Should Jeff  do it for me? Everyone knows we were expecting...

I feel a twitch on my left hand and look up to see that Mariana is waking up.

"Hey babe. How do you feel?" I say smiling and gently rubbing my hand on her cheek.

"Hi." she smiles and answers with a raspy voice "Good I guess... My belly hurts..." she looks down at her belly and then looks at me with sad eyes. "I still can't believe what happened, H..."

"Me neither Mar..." I say looking down at the floor. We stay silent for a while and then she asks:

"Can you call the doctor please? I want to know what really happened."

"Are you sure, babe? He said that there was nothing we could have done to prevent it. It's nobody's fault, M." I answer.

"Even though Harry. I want to know." she says looking me in the eyes.

"Alright, I'll see if I can find him. Hold on a second." I say getting up and leaving the room.

Mariana's P.O.V.

Harry comes back to the room a while later with Dr. Williams behind him.

"Hello Mariana! How are you feeling? Are you in pain?" He says smiling and looking at the monitors behind me.

"It only hurts when I move" I answer.

"That is great." he smiles and after a brief silence he says: "Look I know it might not seem like it, but you were very lucky." he says looking at me and at Harry who is looking back at him with furrowed brows and a confused and slightly annoyed look on his face. "You could have gotten into organ failure or needed an hysterectomy..."

"I'm sorry doc, but can you please tell me exactly what happened?" I ask.

"It's called placental abruption. What happened was that your placenta was separated from the uterus wall, and that caused the bleeding." He looks at me and I look back at him waiting for him to go on. He understands that I want to know more, clears his throat and continues:

"You got here unconscious and, as the paramedic told me, you were experiencing severe pain in your belly, yeah?"

"Yes" I answer.

"We saw that you had a mild vaginal bleeding and we did an ultrasound and checked the baby's heartbeat and blood pressure which weren't looking very good. Given all the evidences we had and the fact that the baby was in distress the most likely diagnosis was a placental abruption so we took you to surgery. Once inside we confirmed that it was indeed a severe placental abruption which meant that the placenta was completely separated from the uterine wall. You were bleeding internally so you had to be given a blood transfusion and we delivered the baby. We did everything we could, but it was a stillbirth."
