Chapter 2

(Ryder's P.O.V)

I threw the chips packet away in the already overflowing dustbin. I had to take the waste out but I was just to lazy to do that. The whole place was a mess.

I took three cans of beer from the fridge and went to join my two best friends who were in the living room waiting for the football match to start. Giving each of them their beer, I slumped into the sofa. I sighed. I couldn't bear to live in such conditions. I don't know how to keep this place clean and I am too lazy to try. This side of the whole independent thing is not for me.

"At what time is the match starting again?" Andy asked for the fifth time.

"Should be in some ten minutes man. Be patient." Chase replied giving him the looks, tired of having to reply him each time. Andy would ordinarily be the most the patient one among us, but not when it comes to football, especially when his team is playing.

"So, what do you guys have planned for tomorrow?" I asked. The lecture we had tomorrow had been cancelled to a later date, leaving us free.

"We could hang out tomorrow. Go on a road trip or something?" Andy suggested, his hands on covering his mouth planning the day.

"Oh!" exclaimed Chase, as if something really brilliant just crossed his mind. "Isn't your maid due tomorrow?"

"Housekeeper,"  Andy corrected.

"Same thing." Chase eyerolled.

"Yeah, mom just informed me that she is coming tomorrow."

"Are you guys in for some mischief?" Chase eyes glowed. Chase has always been the trouble maker, the one whose always ready for some pranks even if we don't agree to join him.

"Oh God, what do you have in mind now?" Andy enquired, worried. Andy has almost always had to clean up after Chase messes up. He is always the one who would find the right excuses for Chase or apologise to his victims. This has been Andy's role even before I became best friends with those two. Andy and Chase had been close since they were babies. Basically since their moms are best friends.

 "Well," he paused, prolonging the suspense, "how about we use our free time tomorrow to make this place messier?"

What? Like does messier than right now even exist?

"Look Chase, I really need this place to be cleaned up. I can't risk having the housekeeper run away at first sight."

"C'mon, we haven't played a good prank for so long."

"Ryder is right Chase."

"But, another one will come if this one runs away."

"No. That would be mean. Put yourself in the shoes of the person who would have to clean everything up."

"Okay, fine." He agreed, giving in. He knew he wouldn't be able to discuss this further because the match had started.

~~~
I woke up the next day with a horrible head ache. We had a a few too much drinks yesterday. Yawning, I stretched my hands.
"Oh my God!" I exclaimed.
Slowly recollecting last night memories, I stood in front of a pigsty. After having a couple  of drinks, all of us were kind of drunk. And Chase being Chase, convinced us to pull up the prank with him. Being in the state that we were, we all agreed.
Just at that moment, Andy rushed in my room, scaring me.
"Andy!" I gasped.
"Sorry, but I think your housekeeper is here."
No. I glanced at my bedside clock checking the time. It was already 10 a.m.
"What are we gonna do?" I asked Andy. "It would take hours to make all this look tidier."
"Yeah, hours it is."
By the way, he said that I knew there was something I haven't realised yet.
"It even worse downstairs." I sighed, not even daring to ask this as a question.
Andy nodded.
"Where's Chase?"
"Still sleeping," Andy laughed. He knew I would not spare Chase over this.
The doorbell rang again.
"You'd better go and open."
Grabbing a shirt, I went downstairs. I could barely look at the living area. This place was awful.
I just hope this old lady would not run off. Oh God, please help me. My mom would kill me if she knew what a mess I made of this place.
The doorbell rang again.
"Coming."
Careful not to open the door not to let the housekeeper see inside, I slid outside.
Oh my God! I wasn't over with my quota of surprises today.
There in front of me, stood a girl who shouldn't be a lot younger than me.
"Hello," she greeted, introducing herself as Lisa, the housekeeper which the company my mom contacted sent.
That wasn't fair. Housekeepers are old ladies in my head!
 I can't let her in. I noticed that we had scattered some of my clothes in my room, and that too including my underwears. That was just so embarassing. I can not give her the house tour today. Absolutely not.
Making some sort of excuse for today, I was able have her come back tomorrow for the house tour. Closing the door, I closed my eyes relieved.
Giving a last glance at the view in front of me, I made my way to the room where Chase was sleeping. I was not sparring him today.
Turns out, this only lead to us having a good laugh at the things we would do when drunk. Having the rest of the day free, the three of us tried to make this house look decent before grabbing some coffee and making it a movie time.
A.N:
I know it is not perfect but I have been planning to write this story for so long. I have written after such a long time! I would really appreciate some constructive criticisms from you guys. I would really like to know how to improve myself. I have been so out of creative writing lately. I think the flow will come with time. I hope. haha. I hope you will enjoy this story.
