Prologue

If there was something he hasn't thought of, it was how he was going to survive? He had jumped willingly into this, notwithstanding the responsibilities and consequences it consisted of.

He slumped into the couch resting his forehead on his knees. He was exhausted.

His sister, Leah had successfully lured him into it. Ryder has been very close to his sister and loves her enormously. He would do almost everything she told him and he always listened to her.  She was always trying to turn Ryder into one of the heroes of her romance novels, which she read excessively according to Ryder. After all, it was her favourite pass time.

Ryder, being the son of a rich and successful businessman, had a secured bright future and undoubtedly, one day he will be the one managing the whole business. He lacked nothing which could have turned him into a spoilt child but Leah made sure that his feet stayed on earth every time he tended to drift to the wrong side.

She wanted him to prove himself to his parents, even though they haven't asked him to. She wanted him to know what is responsibility and being independent. His sister has pretty much control over him and she was somehow the only one who could convinced him. After all, she was most probably the second girl he had ever loved after his mother.

He certainly had a reputation of a player but at home, he was the good boy, the good son, the good brother. His longest steady relationship amounted to only some three months. Breaking hearts, that was the one thing his sister disliked. Leah believes in love, in true love.

After all, she married the one she loved, someone who might have just stepped out of a romance novel. A dream come true for her.

One day, Leah brainwashed his brother about her idea of true love and successfully drove him in reverie and idealism. One thing that Ryder was sure of was that he had never fallen in love with any of his ex-girlfriends. Nor had he felt that there was love on the other side, on part of his girlfriends.

Even if he did date, all he ever saw in them were spoilt brats all behind his money or beauty. Dating was just a kill time.

But now, he had to stop, he had to find another pass time. Leah had made him promise that he would stop playing with those "poor girls" heart, and let true love find him.

Yes, he currently had a girlfriend but still, he could feel that she was not the one.

He thought of his sister. He missed her so much. It was now about two weeks ago that he has shifted in his new house, which was obviously gifted by his father. All plans of his sister.

Leah always succeed in making Ryder do what she wants. No, her parents didn't know about her hidden agenda. They just thought that it would be easier for Ryder to be closer to his university .

She lived a few hours away but still she never came to visit him, to see how he was managing, which was pretty bad. He could have drove to her and complain all day but he didn't feel at ease around his brother-in-law. He didn't quite know why he disliked him. Even though, when they were together, they used to fight a lot, there was someone without whom Ryder's life was boring and incomplete and it was his beloved sister, Leah.

His parents had told him to offer his friend Dan a place to stay in the house as they would be attending the same university but he didn't agree. If he had to keep the promise made to Leah, Dan just couldn't be around him. He has known Dan since high school and he lives in the same street as him. It was well known that Dan was a much bigger player than he was. Ryder went only to the kissing part unlike Dan who crossed every step. Another thing inspired by Leah, to reserve the next stage only for his true love.

Seeing Ryder's unconditional love for Leah, being rich and handsome along with being a gentleman are things that all girls thrive for, unluckily, he always ended up up with rich, spoilt brats, daddy's girls.

His phone rang. It was Chase, one of his best friends.

"Hey! Are you coming?" He asked.

"No, uh, I'm a bit busy." He lied. He had promised to Chase and Andy that he would accompany them to the cinema but he just wasn't in the mood.

Chase hang up after uncountable attempts at convincing him.

Ryder looked at the living room. It was such a mess. There were leftover of food and a lot of things thrown on the floor, cloths scattered everywhere. He would try to clean later but he was just lazy.

His house was a mess. His life was a mess. A real fiasco.
