Ziva's POV

Tony playfully nudged McGee as we came out of the elevator.

"Come on McGoo, who's the 'lady friend?" Tony asked.

"First of all DiNozzo, it's none of your business. And to answer your question there is no lady friend."

I stepped ahead of the boys and entered Abby's lab.

"Oh hey! Where's McGee and..." she stopped and grinned as she saw the boys standing outside the elevator.

"DiNozzo! That was m-my doctor!" McGee practically shouted.

"What's this doctors profession?"

"She's a-a, ah forget it!" McGee mumbled, entering the lab, tony following with a huge grin.

"Anything you would like to share with the group McGee?" Abby asked, me and tony next to her.

"No, there's not. What do you have Abby?"

"Daniel Clemons, he's our mystery man from the security tape. Age 34, has a five year old daughter. Married four times, divorced 3."

"Sounds like someone we know..." Tony mumbled.

I looked at Tony, smirking.

"He's right behind me, isn't he..."

"Are you ever going to stop making those jokes, DiNozzo?" Gibbs asked, clearly annoyed.

He stayed silent and cringed, preparing for a head slap that wasn't given.

Abby continued, "I found Clemons prints on the gun Ziva found under the dumpster."

"Tony, Ziva, bring him in," Gibbs told us.

We left just as Gibbs gave Abby a kiss and a Caf-Pow.

Tony's POV

Ziva walked briskly beside me, looking off into the distance.

Her hair blew in the February wind and her face looked saddened.

"Hey, you okay?" I asked, knowing something was bothering her.

She looked up and nodded, then quickly looked away to avoid eye contact.

"Ziva..." I said, wanting to know the truth.

"Clemons daughter... Goes to Zuri's preschool, she's the one Zuri always talks about."

"Maria? B-But if that's our guy then that means he killed the our John Doe," I stumbled for words. "You're worried about Maria."

"She's the sweetest thing, I just can't help but wonder what she goes through if her dads actually the killer. And... If we never took in Zuri she could be just like Maria."

I looked over at her, this was clearly really bothering her.

I wrapped my arm around her and she leaned into me.

"But we did save Zuri and I'm sure Maria is just fine. Lets just go to his house and bring them in."

She nodded just as we approached the car.

The silence lagged on the whole drive to the house.

When we arrived there was a black SUV pulling out of the driveway.

Ziva got out and tried to stop them put they started to speed away.

I quickly chased after them.

Ziva's POV

Tony sped down the street and left me alone in the driveway.

I tried to convince myself Tony wasn't about to get himself killed, then realized I should check the house.

I drew my gun and searched the house.

It was pretty clean, it looked like a normal house.

I entered what seemed to be Maria's room and froze in terror.

She was lying on her bed, eyes closed, holding a note.

I ran over to her and opened the note.

I'm sorry, the guilt was too much and she kept getting in the way.

I felt for the girls pulse and cringed, she was dead.

Tony rushed in and stopped when he saw the girl.

We called Gibbs and stood outside the house hand in hand.

I looked around glumly, Tony knew I was still bothered.

"That's never going to happen to her," he said, looking down at me in concern.

I nodded and sighed. It was silly to get upset over something like this.

That night Tony Ziva and Zuri sat in their living room watching Tom and Jerry.

It seemed weird, even after a month, that they we home, safe.

But little did they know, everything, was about to change...

Tony's POV

It was pretty late, Ziva was out for a run around the neighborhood.

I slowly crept down the hallway and quietly peaked inside the door.

Zuri was lying on her purple and blue bed covered in stuffed animals and blankets.

I smiled slyly then walked into the bathroom to turn the light off.

I picked up Zuri's towel and threw out a piece of paper I found on the floor.

Something caught my eye inside that trash can.

No... No way...

No, no, just no! It can't be...

I slowly leaned over and placed it on the counter.

I heard the front door open and close and footsteps came closer.

"Hi," Ziva said with a big smile. "What's-"

Her face fell as she saw what was on the counter.

"You're... You're.... Pregnant?" I asked in disbelief.
