My Mom walks in and sees Maddie. She's a bit shocked but, not to shocked cause it's Maddie. Maddie smiles at her and that makes everything just fine.
"How are you Maddie?" She asks
"I feel better then I have in a long time" she answers looking at me
"Is it because, you don't have the stress of the team anymore?" My Mom asks
"A little, I miss the team a ton and now that I'm without it I realize how lucky I was to have such a great team of friends" Maddie answers with a big grin
"I'M glad to hear!" My Mom answers
We all head towards the kitchen of the apartment, every chance I look at Maddie, my saver, my life, and sigh. My mom starts unloading groceries and begins cooking dinner... We stand there in silence. Then I see Maddie look at her phone. Maddie then takes a breath and speaks.
"I have to go" Maddie says with dissatisfaction
"Are you sure you can't stay for dinner... You know your always welcome!" My Mom says with such a kindness, almost like she knows just how much Maddie now means to me.
"No, I have a date" Maddie answers
"Have Fun... Be responsible" my mom starts with her parenting skills
"Oh. Please it's just a movie" Maddie sighs
"Have fun" I say trying to sound happy even though I want to ball my eyes out right now. I think she doesn't fully believe me but, she still smiles at me wit her beautiful blue eyes. And I grin back at the sight of such beauties. Maddie embraces me then, and I hold on tight. When she goes to leave, I let go knowing she is going to be with someone else. Someone who could never understand her the way I do!
I walk Maddie out and my eyes watch her walk away...
