The Twist Of Fate

Ch. 5 our first destination

"We're here everyone!" Jane said.

I opened my eyes and raised my head to see that we were parked in a driveway of a house.

"Come on Roxanne! I want to show you my room!" Harper said.

She grabbed my arm and we ran inside the house. The living room was very small. It was connected to the dining room. The living room was also connected to a hallway. The hallway had four doors. Harper pulled me into the first one. Her room was very small. There were two beds side by side with a table in between them. I went into the next room which looked just like the other one. This was Ethan and Kurt's room. Next was the bathroom. After that it was Landon and Janes room. I went back outside to get my things. I brought them in the house and threw them into Harpers room. I plopped down on the couch next to Kurt. Everyone else joined us.

"The Tough Trucks starts at 7." Jane said.

"What's that?" I asked.

"People drive trucks around a course as fast as they can." Landon explained.

"Sounds..... Fun." I said.

I'm a mixture of a country girl and many other things. I like to get dirty and I'm rarely afraid of anything. But watching trucks go in circles, isn't my favorite thing.

I got up to get dressed. I walked into Harpers room and to my surprise, there wasn't a lock! Oh well. I picked out my outfit. I went with jeans, a green button down shirt with a gray tank top, and cowgirl boots. I was pulling up my pants up when I heard the door open, I turned to see Nathan shut the door. I didn't have a shirt on. He turned to look at me, his eyes trailing down my body.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" I screamed pulling my tank top on.

He ran to me and threw the tank top on the ground. He grabbed me by the waist and pulled me into a kiss. I was in total shock! What does he think he's doing? I pushed him away and grabbed my tank top to put it on.

"Get out now!" I screamed.

He turned and walked out. But what really got me was that he was smiling! I finished getting dressed and headed to the bathroom. I let my braid down. My hair fell wavy down to my butt.

I looked at myself, realizing that I was still blushing. I looked at my lips, remembering his lips on mine. SNAP OUT OF IT ANNIE!

***twenty minutes later***

We all loaded in the car. I was the last to get in, so of course, I had to sit in the very back between Ethan and Nathan.

I plopped down next to them. It took two minutes to drive into town. It was hard finding a seat at this truck thingy. The first truck started going around the track, this one flipped over. I braced myself for the worse. My eyes were wide and my jaw dropped as I saw the truck fly into the air and land on it's top. To my relief, the man jump out of the truck and made sure that everyone knew he was fine. After the fifth truck, I was really getting into it. It was fascinating how fast most of the truck could round the sharp corners.

By nine o'clock, it was over. We headed home. We busted through the door and sat on the couch.

"Can we sleep in the cabin?" Ethan asked.

Landon owns cabins where he lets hunters stay in.

"Yes, but the small one!" Landon said.

I jumped up and ran to Harpers room. I packed what I thought I'd need for that night. I grabbed my things and headed for the cabin. I walked through the door. I noticed that Nathan and Ethan were already in there, and as I walked through the door, they stopped there conversation and turned towards me. I realized that both of their eyes were trailing down my body.

I rolled my eyes and said, "Keep it in your pants."

"Damn girl! With your body, it might be a little hard! I think I might take it out for a while!" Ethan said.

We all laughed at his come back.

"Ok, girls on this side, guys over there. I call the top bunk!" I told Harper as she walked in.

"Yes, I will also take the top bunk!" Nathan said. "But on that side." Nathan said pointing to my bunk.

"Ha! You're funny!" I said. He started to climb after me up to my bunk. But I shoved him out of the way.

We stayed up playing some card games for about four hours. Card games are actually really fun!

We agreed to go to bed. But for some reason, I couldn't sleep. I could hear Harper and Ethan snoring. I felt the bed shaking and movement at the end of my mattress. I got really tense and braced myself to be sliced in half. But all I felt was an arm rap around me and something lay behind me. I could smell a familiar scent.

"What are you doing Nathan?" I asked.

I felt his lips kiss up and down my neck. I gave in a rested against his chest. It felt so good. He rapped his arm around my waist and pulled me in closer. We fell asleep just like that.

When I woke up, I looks across to see Nathan asleep in his own bunk. I looked at my phone to see what time it was. Eight o'clock. We had to get up at nine. I fell asleep for another hour. I was awoken by Janes voice telling us to get up. I jumped off of the bed and went to take a shower. About an hour later, Ethan, Harper, Nathan, and I were downtown Hill City selling produce.

I felt my phone vibrating and answered it.

"Hello?"

"Hey sweetie, I will be there in an hour to get you." I heard my grandma say.

"Alright! Love you bye!"I said.

I waited an hour and my grandma showed up.

"Bye guys!" I said. I gave everyone a hug. When I got to Nathan, he pulled me in tight and held me for a minute. I got into my grandmas car and left for Phillipsburg.
