"I don't understand how it happened." I was telling JoAnna.
"Well, I mean, now you know he's into you." she replied.
"It's like he attacked me with sexual pleasure. It was quite nice I have to say, but I can't get over Nathan. I love him too much, but what he did was horrible."
"Hun, you need to put yourself out there."
"I guess you're right, but it's hard you know? It just doesn't happen like that. Not that fast."
JoAnna and I were sitting at the movie theater, getting ready to watch Anchorman 2. The closest movie theater we had was in Lawrence.
When we walked in and sat down, it was completely dead since everyone had already went to see it. JoAnna managed to get me out of my house this weekend since I have been sitting on my ass and balling for the past month.
State already came and gone and I managed to place third. I guess all of my anger really did help me win. I don't like it being that way, but it's just how it is.
"I've been wanting to see this movie for a long time. No one would go with me until I finally annoyed you enough to get off your butt and go." JoAnna doesn't like to cuss. She usually says fudge or ace to cover up her cuss words. I find it quite humorous.
"Yeah, I'm kind of glad that I came." I said.
"Hey! Don't forget about me!" I heard a small voice say to the right of me. It was Rhea.
"No one could forget about you!" JoAnna said.
"I hope not." she said, trying to pull of a serious face.
We just ended up laughing. These two girls alway managed to crack me up.
People began to come in one by one. I watched them walk in because the previews haven't started yet.
Some woman with long black hair and dark eyes, almost black, walked in alone. I felt sorry for her because she didn't have anyone to sit with. She just walked to the front and sat down in the very first row.
A couple came in holding hands. They were about fourteen. I could tell they really liked each other by the way they sucked each others faces right when they say down.
After watching more people file in, I just stared at the blank screen, wondering how these people live. You know, what they do in their free time, what other movies do they watch, what books they read, what they act like, how many kids do they have, do they have any piercings or tattoos, what their family is like. I can't help but wonder who they really are.
"Annie, look." JoAnna said pointing toward the door.
I flickered my eyes toward the door and saw him. Of course. Out of all people we have to see, it's him.
"Oh god. Nathan." I whispered to myself. Tears started to form in my eyes. My lips began to quiver. I began to heat up and shake with anger. I had total hatred toward him. Nothing but hatred.
He was with Ethan. Nathan hadn't seen us yet but Ethan had.
I made eye contact with Ethan and shook my head at him. He knew that I didn't want to see Nathan. But he hit Nathan's arm and pointed at us. When Nathan's eyes met mine, Nathan started running toward us.
"I gotta go. Tell me how the movie is." I said jumping up and running down the isle, in the opposite way the ass munch was coming. I got down to the floor and took off running out the door.
"Jack ass." I said to Ethan while pushing him out of the way.
He yelled something to me but I was too focused on getting away.
On my way out of the movie theater, I ran square into someone very familiar. It was Brandon.
"Oh thank god. I need to get away from here." I said panting like crazy.
"Roxanne wait!!" I heard Nathan's voice behind me.
"I'll drive." Brandon said grabbing my wrist as we took off running to his car, that magically was fixed today.
I swear, he just wanted rides from me.
He started the car and I couldn't see Nathan in site.
"Where do you wanna go?" he asked.
"I don't care." I said, tears filling my eyes again and spilling over.
"Let's take a joy ride." He said and took a right and headed towards Weavers Bottoms. Weavers Bottoms is a large patch of woods. It a beautiful place and I love driving down the back roads.
"Are you okay?" Brandon asked parking in the middle of a trail. I've never been so far back in these woods before.
"I'll be fine."
He came in close and kissed my neck. It made goosebumps shoot through me. But it still didn't feel right.
"I can't do this. Okay?" I said.
But he wouldn't take no for an answer.
"Come on I know you want to." he said gently pushing me into the back seat and getting on top of me.
"Brandon stop!" I said struggling.
"Oh. I love it when you struggle." he ripped my shirt off of me and then my bra.
I tried reaching for the handle but he ripped my hands away.
The next thing I know, he locked the doors.
