Took me forever to update, but ya it's here now...

I got home and found all the lights off and my mom's car absent from the driveway. I went through the front door that was open and peeked inside. "Mom? Ari?" I yelled through the empty house.
"Shay?" I heard a muffled voice ask.
"Ari, are you here?"
"Yeah," she said in between sobs.
"Where's mom?"
"I don't know. She left after you left."
"Well you know that I wouldn't leave you." She nodded, but she still kept crying. "You need to go to sleep and refresh yourself, you look tired." That wasn't a lie. She looked awful and tired and she definitely needed to get this thought away from her small mind. I grabbed her hand and walked her to her bedroom. I sat her on the bed like she was five and brought my guitar to her, and started playing her favorite song. I strummed the first few chords and she looked up, and a faint hint of a smile appeared on her face.
"Across the ocean, across the sea
starting to forget the way
you looked at me.
Over the mountains across the sky
need to see you face. I need to look in
your eyes..."
Yes, Justin Beiber was her idol, and this song was the most comforting one he sings. I sung a but more until I saw her tears go away. "Go to sleep Ari, I'll figure it out in the morning." She nodded and laid her head on her pillow and I quietly stepped out of the room and closed her door.
I gave a quick breath. That could have gone worse. I leaned up against a wall and looked at the ceiling. What to do? What to do? I thought about today. Got bullied at school, like normal. Got home, my dad left. I left for an hour or so. Chris and Lauren comforted me. Got home, my mom left Ari and me. What type of people do this to their kids? I heard my phone ring on the couch. I went over and grabbed it and answered it.
"Hey," I said normally.
"Shay?" I heard Cole's voice.
"Well you did just call my phone."
"Wait this is you? You sound like you're crying." Honestly, I didn't know I was crying until he mentioned it. Hopefully I wasn't crying around Ari.
"Well, dad just left and I don't know where mom is right now."
"What the fuck?"
"You heard. I don't know what to do."
"Gosh. I'm coming down as soon as possible."
"You don't have to. You know me. I can fend for myself. You have school anyway."
"I think they'll understand, and anyway, that's illegal for a 14 year old to take care of a 12 year old and herself."
"Eh. It's illegal for you to drink, but you do it anyway."
He laughed. "Whatever. I'm coming and I'm bringing a group of people with me too."
"God, Cole. Your bringing all the guys?"
"And Nicky."
"Well whatever."
"I'll be down tomorrow morning sometime."
"Thanks."
"No problem. I'm not going to leave you and Ari alone."
"Thanks, your the best."
"Eh. What can I say?"
"Shut up." With that I hung up, and made my way to my own Bedroom. It had been a long day, and I needed it to end. I tangled myself in blankets, even though it was deathly hot outside. My eyelids dropped quickly, and I found my way to sleep.
--
"Shay Rose," I heard someone say softly.
"Huh?" I said opening my eyelids. I faintly saw a group of people crowding my bedside. "What?"
"Shay, babe it's us," I heard an annoying mocking voice say. I opened my eyes, so I could see clearly.
"Wes?"
"Yep."
"Oh hey." I looked through the rest of the group from right to left: Wes, Cole, Drew, Keaton, Nicky, and Chris. Chris? What was he doing here? That question only passed through my mind for a split second, because I was too happy that the rest of my people were here. "Nicky!" I yelled and jumped out of her and wrapped my arms around her tightly.
"Wow there Shay!" She yelled back, but she was laughing. I felt two arms wrap around my waist from behind. I turned to see a cheesy-smiling Keaton.
"Awe. Come here Keat!" He hugged me for real and managed to pick me up and spin me once.
"I missed you."
"So did I." After Keaton let go of me, I hugged the rest of the group and Chris.
"So where's Kyle, Kenny, Carly, Tyler, Kory, Rexx, Kelsi, Joey-" I was interrupted.
"God, I can't bring the whole Huntington Beach down here, but I would have brought Kyle, Kenny, and Carly, but they were busy," Cole said.
"Understandable. Is Ari awake?"
"I don't know who can sleep the through that, but we didn't purposefully wake her up," Nicky said.
"Okay. When did you get here?"
"Like twenty minuets ago," Keaton said.
"Wow you guys are fast."
"Yeah, so Shay Rose, we came here to distract you and Ari," Drew said putting an arm around me.
I giggled. "Sweet. I'd love to hang with you."
"We know, that's why we came," Wes said proudly."
"Get over yourself fool."
He made a face and flipped me off, so I did it back at him. "You're mean."
"You're a dick."
"Eh. Shut up fuckers. We're going for a surf in 30 so get ready," Cole said stopping our argument.
"Then get out everyone!" I yelled. Everyone left, but I saw Chris walk slowly toward the door. "Hey, why'd you come?"
"We'll earlier, Cole stopped by the school to tell the teachers you're going to be out for a week, and I was in the office at the time, and I came with him to check on you."
"Thanks, that was really thoughtful."
"No problem, not like I'm missing anything at school."
"Sure."
"Whatever, but I like your friends. They make you smile, and I don't think I've ever seen you smile, except when you talk to them. That makes me smile."
I smiled. "Well aren't you good at charming."
He laughed sweetly. "No I just like seeing pretty girls happy."
"See, you are a charmer."
"Maybe," he said with a light laugh as he exited my room. I smiled as I went to my closet to pick out a bikini. He was a nice guy, not how I thought he was. He was sweet, but I don't think I'd ever be willing to open up to him.
I let the thought of him disappear, and all I thought about then was what a killer week I will have!
