Chapter 12
"Bye, mom," I said as I hugged her tight."
"Bye sweetie. Remember Isabella is going to stay with you at Britney's house."
"Okay." I had no porblem with that. Aunt Isabella may be the chilliest Aunt there ever was, and Britney lived in Malibu, so I was in for a fun time.
Ari came up to me. "Bye, Shay!" She squealed. She was probably really excited.
"Bye, Ari. I'll miss you."
"You too," she said hugging me tighter. I then walked over to Chris.
"Hey," he said.
"Hey," I said back. He wrapped his arms around me, and I did the same.
"Good luck."
"Thanks."
"Go kill it."
"I will."
"Shay," he said pulling me from his arms, so he could look at my face. "You deserve this more then anyone."
"Thanks," I said falling back into his arms. He kissed my cheek, and let me free. I met Noah at the gate, who was flying back to Cali for a skateboarding competition. He wrapped an arm around my shoulder.
"Don't worry, Ms. Hale. I'll take care of her," he said. Somehow that comment reassured my mom, and she looked less nervous.
"How can you do that if you're gonna be in San Clemente?" I asked sarcastically.
"I'm actually staying in LA. The competition is in Venice."
I snapped my fingers. "Damn it."
"It's okay, Shay. That means I can sneak you out and we can hang."
"Don't get her in trouble, Noah," my mom said.
"He won't," I said. "We gotta go now." I gave everyone a last hug goodbye and ran onto the plane. Noah and my seats were on opposite sides of the plane, so we didn't see each other, except one time when I went to the bathroom and he tripped me.
We landed a few hours later, it felt like a few hours, because I slept for it least half the trip. When we landed, I quickly grabbed my bags from the baggage claim, and met my aunt outside with Noah.
"Hey, Shay," she said as she stepped out of the car to hug me.
"Hi Aunt Isabella." She hugged me and then moved on to Noah.
"Who's this?" She asked me.
"This is my friend Noah."
"Ah. Another boy. What are your intentions with Shay?"
"He's like Wes," I said.
"Oh. Okay then. Welcome to the family." She said giving him a hug.
"Who is this Wes kid. You compare me to him a lot."
"Well you're a like," I said. We grabbed our bags and threw them in the back of the car. Noah grabbed shotgun, so I got the back to myself.
"So. The boys leave off tomorrow," I heard my aunt said.
"What?" I asked surprised. I thought for sure they left today and we'd missed them.
"Anyway... I'm taking you to Laraine's right now."
"No way! Thank you so much!"
"No problem."
"That's why you're my favorite." On the way, we kept talking about LA, Newport, Huntington, and Costa Mesa. We finally got there, and the boys, including Nicki were all In the front yard waxing their surf boards.
