(Tony Stark out of his armor) Anthony Edward Stark, more commonly known as Tony Stark, and universally revered as Iron man, is the adoptive son of wealthy couple Howard and Maria Stark. He is a fictional Marvel superhero who uses his above-average intelligence as a means to become something greater. With Multiple Ph.D.'s in physics, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering Tony Stark Is one of the smartest men in the Marvel universe and has even received the title "Engineer supreme" a spoof of Dr.Strange's "Sorcerer supreme" title. He is also among the richest Marvel characters and is in charge of one of, if not the greatest Tech-conglomerates on Earth, Stark Industries. Using his mind and his money Stark builds various armored suits labeled by numbered "Marks." Tony dons these armor(s) and fights crime as the superhero known as Iron man.
Pre Adoption and Adoption- The biological parents of Tony Stark are unknown. He was adopted by rich industrialist Howard Stark and his wife Maria Stark after a failed attempt at a having a healthy child. In a desperate pursuit for the way to ensure Maria could give birth without any problems, Howard sought the help of an alien robot known as Rigellian Recorder 451.
451 agreed to help the baby survive so long as he could bio-engineer the child, so that in the future Howard's son could advance Earth's technology and help the Earth stand against great threats. According to 451, the unborn child was the perfect choice due to his father's intelligence and engineering abilities, which would be naturally passed on to the child (in addition to 451's own alternations). 451 genetically modified the baby in the womb, but Howard discovered the robot had hidden some sort of kill switch, that would compromise the life of his son in the future. Stark developed a "biococktail" to interfere with this kill switch. Once the baby, named Arno Stark, was born, 451 left Earth.
Unexpectedly, Howard's interference with 451's design caused the newborn to become very sick. The Starks decided to keep the baby hidden in the Maria Stark Foundation Hospice. To prevent 451 from discovering Howard's actions they adopted a "replacement child" and named him Anthony Edward Stark.
Early life- Sent off to boarding school at the ripe age of six Tony had a rather difficult relationship with his father. It was revealed Howard Stark was heavily effected by alcoholism. Howard taught Tony about how to handle wars financially, and Howard forced Tony to try alcohol for the first time, these were both things set Tony on a course to a darker path in his future. But in an ironic twist fallowing in his fathers footsteps is how Tony became a hero. When his Parents died in a "car accident" which was set up by the rival company Republic Oil. Tony inherited it all, money, possessions, a powerful company. He was young, age 21, with the world in the palm of his hand. His parents death did bother him but the life he lived after it was a reckless one. He still pushed Stark Industries in the military based direction going off what his father taught him, but it was when he took a trip to Afghanistan to supervise a field test of one of the weapons He created that his whole perspective on life changed. During this demonstration Stark Tripped a booby-trap and gravely injured himself, and he was captured by the Forces of Wong-Chu. (More of the story told in Mark 1). Tony stark built the first Iron man armor to save his life and afterwards used it to become a superhero.
