Backstory-
IronMan issues 1-3 see's IronMan using another suit known as the Mark 3. Built to advance upon the already impressive Mark 2, this suit was superior in every way. This was the first suit to immediately have Repulsor Rays built into the hands, and use the Repulsor Rays as the main weapons. It was also the first to use, and include the Unibeam. This suit was badly damaged in the fight with "The Freak" in issue #3 and that prompted the creation of the Mark 4. Even though it was broken in the battle with The Freak the suit was rebuilt and displayed alongside the others.General Overview-
This suit ascetically isn't very different from the Mark 2 and the most notable difference is its lack of spike designs atop the mask. It still uses the red and yellow color scheme established by the mark 2 and it removed unnecessary features and improved on the established ones. This suit Improved every function and aspect of the Mark 2 including, Power, Speed, energy consumption, durability, sensors, and other technical functions. It comes equipped with Smoke bombs, bomb pellets, a medical kit, a cutting blade, a sound duplicator, and a high frequency wave generator to deafen opponents. This suit also has the ability to project heat holograms and absorbs extreme temperatures and energy and distort them away from the suit.Nose Suit-
For a temporary time the Mark 3 Iron man armor had an exclusive feature only seen on one suit, that feature being a nose. It's said that Iron Man creator, Stan Lee spoke to one of the artists working on the original Invisible Iron Man series. It's implied that he had stated something along the lines of, "It sure must be hard for Tony Stark to fit his face under that faceplate." Because of this simple remark the artist took that as reason enough to give Iron Man a nose as soon as possible.
While in the context of the story Tony explained his nose-upgrade as a way for him to express more emotion, thus causing his foes more fear, it seemed that it made readers more uncomfortable aswell. After the destruction of this armor and it's rebuild as Mark 4 the nose concept was discontinued and has rarely been seen since.
In the MCU-
The Mark 3 was created as a more advanced successor to the Mark 2 and is the final suit used in Iron Man (2008). It was used to defeat Iron Monger and serves as the mainly used suit in the movie and has many features. Along with Repulsors, Thrusters, a unibeam, super strength, super speed, enhanced flight, facial recognition, lots of missiles, an anti-tank missile, two extremely powerful lasers in the wrists, and an ark reactor power source the suit has the the AI J.A.R.V.I.S. This program serves as Tony's helper and often as his morality. J.A.R.V.I.S. allows Tony to control and do many things, akin to a really advanced smartphone. J.A.R.V.I.S. Controls the other suits, runs a large portion of Stark Industries, handles and transfers money, makes phone calls, can hack into other technologies, keeps up with Tony's Vitals and energy consumption, Ect. This is also one of the suits used by Tony suit in IronMan 2 (2010). He used it to fight Black-Lash, and Rhodey wearing the Mark 2.
