Chapter 7

Maia's POV:

I decide to wear something that's actually comfortable for the bonfire and wear a pair of shorts, a brandy Melville top, my superstars, and my bag.

Kendall sees me and sqeauls of excitement. Then says, "trust me it won't be a boring party or any party where there are guys who look at you like they want to eat you" she says with a genuine smile.

I get less nervous now and just hope I have someone to talk to the entire time but not someone like him.

When we reach the beach, I already see about 12 people sitting around the bonfire. I look at Kendall and I can see all her perfect teeth just smiling out my window.

I pull up to a parking spot and park and when we get out all eyes are on us. I try to ignore all the stares and eyes going up and down and I look at the fire.

Kendall holds my hand and takes me to her group of friends. Then I spot someone I never thought would be here.

Zayn.

I give him a disgusted look and he just smirks in return.

"Okay so guys this is Maia the one whom I've been talking about for the past few days!" Maia says as she goes to sit on her boyfriend, Tim's lap.

"Hi guys!" I say trying to give a smile.

Is silent for a moment and I get nervous but then everyone starts talking to me.

"Oh my god. Is that a brandy top? We are immediately best friends!" A girl named Sammy says.

"Oh my gimme your legs please" A girl named Sierra says with a pout laughing.

"Oh my your so pretty gimme a hug please" a girl named Emily says and I go over and hug her.

I look around and notice I'm the only one standing. I also notice that Zayn and I are the only ones that are single while the rest are all cuddled in their boyfriends chest.

I remember all the times him and I cuddled and how he'd comb my hair and let me sleep in his chest.

"Maia? Maia!!" Sierra says, "Sit near Zayn that's the only spot left."

"I'd rather stand" I mutter under my breath as I go to sit next to Zayn.

Everyone starts getting into their own discussions and my only option is to talk to Zayn.

"So you decided to follow me here too? Nice one babe" Zayn says with a smirk as he reaches for his beer.

"Well first of all stop calling me babe. Second, maybe your the one following me huh?" I say to Zayn with now me smirking.

"Oh you wish" Zayn says.

And for the next two hours, we talked and talked.

And I might've liked it a little.
