"What did you want, Chuck?" Newt asked, both of them walking towards the Homestead.

"The lock on the bathroom is broken." the small boy answers, trying to hold in a laugh.

"Why couldn't you get Gally or one of—"

"They're all too busy, plus I don't like Gally."

Newt nods as they reach the Gladers' bathroom. But fixing the lock wasn't on Newt's mind. Thomas was. He was still fussing over the fact that Thomas didn't have the ribbon on.

Newt enters the room but is confused when he sees Thomas in the bathroom with him. Newt turns back to find the door shut and locked.

Chuck.

"CHUCK! LET US OUT!" he yells, smacking the door.

"NO, you guys need to sort this out. So, I'm not letting you guys go until you fuck."

"Wait what?"

"NOTHING, HAVE FUN!" and with that, the brown-haired boy left.

Newt groans before smashing his head on the door. He didn't want to speak to Thomas. Not now, not ever.

"Newt... Please tell me what's going on. You've been acting weird with me ever since I've come to the Glade. Just... Tell me. Please."

He didn't like when Thomas was like this. Newt knew that he had to tell him. Even if it kills him.

"You broke your promise." he muttered before they both heard a pounding on the door.

After hearing the door being kicked down, they see Frypan and Winston standing there, their faces smirking slightly. Both boys looked at them in confusion as they hear laughter.

"Why are you guys in here for?" Frypan asks, trying to hold in a laugh.

"Chuck locked us in." Thomas asks and Newt nods, blushing slightly.

"Whatever, let's go." and with that, Newt rushed out of the room before Thomas could even talk to him.

•••••

Thomas was laying in his hammock, swaying side to side, thinking about... well everything.

He was confused. Why was Newt suddenly acting soo weird with him? When they first met, he was soo nice. Looking out for Thomas like that. The brown-eyed boy found it sweet.

"So, did my amazing plan work?" he hears Chuck coming over and sitting next to him.

"No, Chuck... Your 'amazing' plan didn't work. He didn't even say anything." Thomas sighs, sitting up.

"We can try again–"

"No we can't. Chuck... Newt, he makes think things that I've never thought before. I've suddenly been attracted to him."

He goes to grab something from underneath his pillow and brings out a yellow ribbon, only to find that it was slowly ripping apart.

"Before I went into the Maze, I found this yellow ribbon in my pocket. I don't know what it's for exactly... but it's something important. And I saw Newt wearing the exact same one around his wrist. What if this could mean something, Chuck? To the both of us?"

Chuck just stood there in shock as he watched Thomas admire the ribbon in front of him. I know all about this, Chuck thought. Of course he did, he had heard the countless stories from Newt about this familiar ribbon.

"I honestly don't know. But it wouldn't hurt to ask him."

"I can't... What if it's just a coincidence? I can't lose him now."

Little did they know that the familiar blonde boy was standing outside the room, ease-dropping on the conversation.
