Willa
The boys were a blur of fists and slurred curses. The fight had taken me by storm, and I'd stopped abruptly in the doorway, causing Rickie and Daisy to collide into my back. The back of my brain told me to turn and assure that she was fine while the front directed my attention to a much more volatile area of concern. When the shock set in that Emmett and Bennett of all people were the ones pummeling each other, I shook of the shock and ran to stop them.
Luckily, Payton had come with us. He'd joined Rickie when he spotted her walking down our street all while I was hoisting Daisy out of my bedroom window before letting pulling myself over the newly finished sill. Mom and Todd had shown up just as I was beginning to fear the worse. The people who'd barged into my home were Daisy's parents and their lawyer and they assumed that they could intimidate me into telling them where Bennett was. Todd surprised me by taking over. He assured them that they had no legal right whatsoever, to barge in and if my mother felt inclined, she could sue for emotional distress. I'm sure they left soon after, but Daisy and I were too busy getting as far away as possible. Apparently after all this time he and Daisy still had a knack for getting into trouble together.
Payton used his height and slight frame to his advantage sliding in between the two to push Benet to the opposite corner while I pulled Emmett in my direction.
The heat energy that seemed to accumulate between the anger and perspiration radiated off of Emmett to a point where I didn't even need the thick sweater I wore to keep me warm.
"What the hell is going on with you two?" Daisy shouted. She'd hobbled over to Bennett, but even as she reprimanded him I was afraid they might just end up making out. Some things never changed.
"Daisy?" -was Emmett's response as he leaned to look past me at the slight blonde burying her face into the sweat stained shirt of Bennett's.
"Did you not hear anything I told you before you attacked me you idiot?" Bennett spat, winding his chin between words.
At his words Emmett's eyes flashed red and his fist clenched beside him. It was unlike anything I'd ever seen from Emmett. I couldn't remember many times when Emmett even cursed at anyone, now he was like a completely transformed killing machine. It took more than I expected to talk him down, and I tried to catch his eyes as I pushed his chest to move him back.
"What's happening here?" Payton huffed out between frantic breaths he'd lost breaking up the fight. "I mean...first Daisy, then Bennett? Who's next? William Shakespeare?"
"What's happening is my brother is a selfish stubborn dick who needs to get his ass kicked!" Emmett's voice boomed from where he stood taller than me and I touched him again, at a loss for how long it would be until I could no longer keep him at bay.
Bennett raised an eyebrow and it was almost humorous how heavily their demeanor varied at the moment, Bennett was indifferent to the fact that he'd just been in a one on one brawl with his brother.
"No, what's happening is Emmett is having a much needed release have pent up aggression. It's okay Em, let it out."
When he cracked a smirk, it was all I could do to keep myself from having to shove Emmett backwards.
"For God sake, Bennett! Will you guys take him outside for a minute?"
"Gee, it's good to see you again too Willa. How's the family? Glad to see you lived. I would catch you up on myself but it seems you didn’t ask."
"I didn't, now go." I huffed out, wishing he'd stop tempting Emmett. There was only so long Emmett could stop pretending my small frame could physically keep him back.
