I had to shove a bunch of stuff out of the range of my camera so it didn't look horrible but that's my dining room table, and where I do most of my writing. I like it because I can spread out with my notebooks and pens. I also have a nice window nearby so I get lots of light.
I keep the pens in their cases to keep them tidy, but it's also because I've already lost one when it rolled off the table and my puppy got a hold of it and chewed it enough I couldn't use it anymore. The water is for my pens, not for drinking. Some of them are finicky and need to be dipped in water to get the ink flowing. That's the one downside to fountain pens, but I can live with it. The napkin is to get rid of the excess water and to write on until the ink flows.
