A Different Kind Of Love

Omniscient POV

The girls birthday party was going amazing. Everyone was enjoying themselves except August. He held a cold glare at the happy couple, Aaliyah and David. He didn't expect for Aaliyah to be so happy, it looks so easy for her to move on while he couldn't even have sex with anyone without thinking about her. He tried ignoring them and have fun for the sake of his 'daughters' but it became pretty hard when everyone was talking about them. 

"Hey Aug." Alexis greets him with a red cup in her hand.

"Watsup." 

"You okay?" She asks

"Why wouldn't I be?" He asks looking at her

"You don't look so happy to see the man of the hour." She smirks referring to David.

August didn't reply because it made his blood boil just thinking about him. 

"He's nice and fine as hell to." Alexis toyed with him

"I didn't ask." 

"The look on your face says otherwise." She laughs receiving a small glare from August

"Can this conversation be done?" August asks rudely 

"But you look so lonely over here by yourself." She says patting his leg

"Alexis" He warns

"I'm kidding but it looks like you got some serious competition."

"I don't see it." August says rolling his eyes

He knew she was right but he didn't want to admit it. He knew who David was and he knew he was a much better person than he is. He also knew David would treat her right and better than he ever did, but that won't stop him from trying. He needs to find a way that he could convince Aaliyah that he was the one for her.

The girls were knocked out on the couch by 9:30 and everyone started leaving. Only family and a few close friends stayed to help clean up. By 10 o'clock most of the yard was already clean and Theresa insist that everyone went home and she'll finish cleaning the next day.

"I'll see you in the morning." Aaliyah says

"I was looking forward to spending the night with you." David says resting his hands on her hips.

"I know babe but I have to take August home and I don't like driving at night." She says

"So you'll be spending the night with him." He asks raising his eyebrow

"We'll be under the same roof but different beds." 

"Still don't like the idea of you him alone together." David frowns

"I know but he can't really do much right now." She laughs softly

"If the roles were reversed a broken leg wouldn't stop me so I doubt it'll stop him." David chuckles even though he was serious about Aaliyah being with August. He was planning on asking her to be his officially and he was worried August might come between him. 

He knew she still loves him but he was sure he was falling in love with her as well but he didn't want to put too much effort in her if she's going to end up going back to August.

"I promise nothing will happen and I'll call you when I get there then tomorrow I'm all yours." She smiles up at him.

David nodded with a small smile then pressing a small peck to her lips. 

"Goodnight love." he mumbles kissing her once more before leaving.

"Aren't you guys cute." August says with a straight face as he entered the room fully

"We are." She smiles

"I was being sarcastic." He says

"I know." She says rolling her eyes

He hated how she wore a loving smile on her face and it wasn't because of him.

"Anyways... are you ready to go home?" She asks

"I have to say goodnight to the girls first." August answered using his crutches to walk into the living room to see the girls sleeping peacefully on the couch. They still had on their outfits and each had on face paint that half gone. He could only hope his brother would be proud of how he's taking care of them because he was doing his best.

"You're doing a doing a amazing job with them." Aaliyah says coming to stand next to him 

"You think?" He asked glancing at her

"Of course. You make them so happy and you give them whatever they want. I don't fully agree with that but your a great father to them." She smiles and August chuckles.

They weren't directly from him but they are his kids no matter what. He did want kids of his own someday but he was happy with his three girls now. He hated that they were getting older. He couldn't stop them from getting older and leaving because everyone leaves him at some point in his life. 

"I don't give them everything." He chuckles even though he knows does. They weren't too spoiled but he just wanted to him them everything he couldn't have as a child.

"Whatever Aug." She says walking into the kitchen. He turn his head to watch her walk out. Her hips swayed and her ass looks amazing. He could tell she gained a little weight but it only made her look even more amazing. He sighed when he felt himself getting a little excited. He shook away his inappropriate thoughts and walked closer to the girls bending a little to give them each a kiss and turning off the light.

He didn't notice Aaliyah watching him with a smile on her face with thoughts that getting over him will be harder than she had hoped.
