Aaliyah's POV

August breaks the kiss breathing deeply, " I just remembered something."

"What?"

"Maria said she was going to bake the cupcakes for Kay." He replies his cool breath hitting my face

"Doesn't seem like something that hard to forget." I said staring up at him

"Didn't seem to mind kissing me." He smirks pecking my lips

I can't with his ego. 

"Whatever." I mumbled

"And just so you know, I've been waiting about a year to do that." He smiles connecting his lips to mine.

"Um... Where are we going with this?" I ask softly

"I'm all in but the question is are you?" He questions resting his hand on my cheek

"August... I'm with David and-"

"Are you guys official?" He questions cutting me off.

"No, but-" 

"No buts, y'all aren't official so there shouldn't be a problem."

"It's not that simple. I care for him and I don't want to hurt him." I sighed hopping off the counter

"And what about me." He questions his jaw clenching. 

"It's always not about you August, you can't just expect for me to get back with you after what just happened." My voice raising

"I'm really not trying to argue Aaliyah, I've been waiting for a year so the choice is yours." He said leaning against the counter

I arched my eyebrow, "You want me to choose?" 

"It shouldn't be so hard." 

"Yes it is. We have history but you are the same person that left me heartbroken more than once while David has done nothing but show me love and treat me like a woman should actually be treated, so yes it's hard but don't make it easy for him." I spat

From kissing to this, unbelievable . 

"I don't have time for his, goodbye August." I sighed taking one last glance at him before walking out.

"Hey, where have you been?" David greets pressing his lips to mine

"August needed something for his leg." I mumbled

"Is he straight?" He ask and I nodded.

"Yea, he's.. he's great." I forced a smile

"I'm guessing you're day didn't go all that good." He chuckles

"Well it's August so I'm not really that shocked." I shrugged  "I'm just glad to be back here with you." 

I smiled wrapping my arms around his neck pressing my lips to his. I deepened the kiss while his hand rest on my ass. 

"Are you sure you're okay love?" He asks in between pecks

"Yes. I am now." I said reconnecting my lips not his but he pulled away.

"What happened at August's?" He asked resting his hands on my hips

"It was harmless." I yelled

"Of course. It was harmless for you to kiss your ex then come here and pretend everything is fine." He growls slamming his clenched fist into the wall.

"You're right, I'm sorry." I sighed

"Everything happened so fast-"

"I don't care Aaliyah. You're suppose to be different, but you're just like him. You guys deserve each other." His jaw clenched in anger while his face showed hurt.

"David I'm sorry." I cried

"It doesn't seem like it." He sighed 

"Can you look at me and tell me that kiss didn't mean something to you."

"It... It-"

"That's what I thought." 

  Numb me down to the core
