The beeping of a heart monitor jerked Anakin from his sleep. He sat up, quickly, and screamed, from all the nightmares he had while he was passed out. He couldn't hear anything though, the pounding in his head too great. A ringing started in his ears, sharp blasts of pain in his skull.
"Anakin. Anakin. Anakin!" Obi Wan's face swam into view, though the blur of the room around him. Anakin felt tears running down his cheeks, and stretched out a hand, trying to steady himself.
"Luke.. Leia." He managed to get through.
"They're both fine, but you've been asleep for three days. You really need to stop hitting your head."
Anakin barely heard him through the haze of ringing. His children were alright, but he suffered from another concussion, maybe a major one, if he could barely hear or see.
"The medical droids are now worried about long term damage. It will noes take months after months to heal properly."
"I can't..." Anakin mumbled, and then he passed out.
*** (Four months later...)
Anakin sat in his hospital bed. He was about to leave the room for the first time in months, while trying to heal the concussion. Obi Wan had told him that because of his actions, he would be granted the rank of Jedi Knight again. Luke and Leia had come to visit him everyday, chatting about their training, and his much they'd like him to train them, because he could fight off a Sith.
The door to the room opened, and Anakin unsteadily walked over to it, and went through, leaning on the door frame. Obi Wan and the kids were waiting outside. Leia and Luke immediately started clinging onto him, and Anakin bent down to give them both a hug.
"Well, that seems to be the fifteenth time I've saved your life," Anakin stood up, and smirked at Obi Wan.
"Fourteenth." Obi Wan corrected him. Anakin hugged him as well. It felt nice to be a friend to his former master again. They walked through the halls of the Jedi Temple, until they reached the spot Sidious had attacked. Leia reached up to grab Anakin's arm, and hugged it. Anakin patted her on the head.
