"This way please." Blue Pearl said quietly.
She led me down a long white corridor, the walls lined with yellow crystal lights. Tubes ran across certain portions of the walls, disappearing to form an invisible network beyond what we could see. I remember that in the past, gems used fires for light, but now times had changed.
I must have been too lost in thought, for before I knew it we were standing before a air of gigantic blue doors. Two quartz soldiers stood at either side of the door, guarding the room beyond the doors from intruders. They both held axes in their hands, leering at me as we arrived.
"It is alright, I was instructed to retrieve her, now let us pass." Blue Pearl ordered calmly. The pair of Quartz seemed unsure of themselves, but decided to obey her orders and pushed the doors open to allow us passage.
I followed her nervously into the room behind the doors. I felt a mix of fear and amazement as we entered the room.
The floor made of blue and gray tiles to form a spiral that led to a set of four diamonds in the center. The biggest of the four diamonds was a deep blue, a deeper shade than the rest of the tiles. Enormous sky blue drapes hung from the seemingly endless ceiling. Before us was a gigantic silver throne with a crystal set of stairs.
The gem I recognized to be Blue Diamond sat atop the throne with her face hidden by a blue veil. Even with the veil covering her eyes, I could still feel her icy cold stare piercing through me.
"My Diamond, I have brought her as you requested" Blue Pearl said formally with a bow. I just stared up silently, unsure of what to say.
"Thank you Pearl, you are dismissed." Blue Diamond stated with a wave of her hand. Blue Pearl understood, and left the room to enter a room just behind the drapes.
Silence filled the room soon after. It felt as if we were both sizing each other up, waiting for the other to utter the first words. This was until Blue Diamond took it upon herself to break the silence.
"Lapis Lazuli, I remember you well, you were there when our forces landed on the Earth, but you never returned afterwards, and you were lost to time until now."
"I was trapped on Earth, inside of a mirror" I explained. I restrained myself from getting angry, but the mere thought of being trapped on the Earth filled me with rage, "I only recently managed to escape with the help of a good friend that I met upon my release from the accursed mirror."
"I see, now tell me something, do you know anything of the 'Crystal Gems'?" She asked,
"They're still alive, and they have a base on Earth" I soon realize what I had just said. My words could potentially put Steven in danger, and I had to think fast, "I didn't see their leader, and there's only three left now, but they are strong."
She thought about my words, as if processing how to interpret them.
"Listen closely Lapis, to Yellow Diamond, you are a traitor that abandoned the colony on Earth, regardless of any alibi you may have," She explained to me, "However you are still a member of my court, Yellow Diamond will wish to have you imprisoned for questioning, but know that I will not allow any harm to befall you"
"I...I understand..." Was all I could say. I wouldn't be able to handle fighting a Diamond, and I have less of a chance to win on a now foreign planet.
"Good, Blue Pearl will escort you out." She said with another wave of her hand.
"Thank you...My DIamond"
