I sat in the corner of my cell. I lost count of how long I had stayed in this place, but it felt as if all hope of escape had left me.
Yet one thought still remained. I had to warn Steven, I had to tell him that he was in possible danger. The sound of a door sliding open alerted me that a gem had recently entered this prison. I listened closely as their footsteps drew nearer to my cell. The footsteps sounded soft, almost as if the gem was lighter than air.
"Hello Lazuli", her voice was soft and very familiar. I looked up to see that my visitor was Blue Diamonds Pearl. She stared at me with her usual emotionless face, "I have a message from My Diamond for you"
"She has requested me to inform you that a technician under Yellow Diamond is requesting an interrogation with you, and that she has been given access to speak with you."
"I don't want to speak to her." I answered coldly. I already knew of a possible gem that wanted to speak with me, and I wanted no part of it. All that mattered to me at the moment was finding a way to warn Steven.
"You really don't have a choice in the matter, but you are already under the protection of Blue Diamond" She said in almost a hushed whisper, "I cannot force you to speak to her, but if you request a word with my Diamond or anything else, than I am at your service."
Just then a thought occurred to me. There was a chance I would be able to send a message to Steven, a way that I could warn him. Blue Pearl began to take her leave, but I rushed to the cell door before she vanished from sight.
"Wait! Please I need something!" I begged. She merely turned her head to me, ready to listen to what I had to say.
"I need to send a message to someone. I just want to let them know...I just want them to know that I'm safe." I lied. I could tell that she was processing my words in her mind by the way that she stood, with her back to me. I stood there with bated breath, waiting for what her response might be.
"Very well" She spoke, "Before your interrogation I shall bring a gem that will be able to assist you in sending your message, now if you would excuse me I must take my leave."
"T-Thank you!" I managed to stutter before the sound of a door sliding shut sounded her leave. I slid down the walls of my cell in relief. It had been thousands of years since more than one individual showed me the slightest form of kindness. She almost reminded me of Steven, but Steven was much different than a Homeworld Gem.
I didn't know if I could trust her completely, but I had no other choice. Warning Steven was much more important than trying to find a trustworthy gem in a planet full of devoted Diamond followers.
"Steven...I hope you're okay..."
