How did I ever end up like this?
How did I end up stuck inside with cell? Trapped as some Peridot stood before me with her cynical eyes glaring down at me.
"Now, Yellow Diamond has graciously given me permission to interrogate you to assist in my mission." She said as her limb enhancers produced a screen before her. She proceeded to mark down her thoughts before returning her attention back to me.
"Let's begin then!"
"Why do you think I would help you?" I spat back.
"Well, if you do provide me with the information that I require, It could mean your freedom from this cell. Still, that depends on IF you are willing to cooperate."
Her words caught me off guard. I could gain my freedom from this cursed cell, but would she really keep her word? My trust couldn't be gained so easily, nobody on this planet could be trusted at this point.
But I had to find a way back to Steven, then hopefully I can convince whatever Homeworld soldier they send to spare him.
"Alright, I'll help you," I sighed, "but only if you will give me my freedom!"
"Agreed. So, let's begin!" She said enthusiastically before clearing her throat, "so, firstly, what do you know about the Crystal Gems?"
"All I know is that they have a small base of operations on Earth, and that they continue to defend the planet from what they see as harmful." She couldn't learn about Steven.
"Have they interfered with the cluster's emergence?" She asked after making strange markings on the screen her limb enhancers created.
"The, what? I don't know what the cluster is."
"Well then, one final question: How strong are the so called, 'Crystal Gems'? How are their defensive measures?"
Her question unnerved me. My answer could lead her to gather weaponry to fight them. I couldn't allow her to harm Steven -- he's the only one worth protecting on that miserable planet.
"They're resilient, but I don't believe they would be able to stop anything from Homeworld, it all seems too advanced for them," I answered.
"Well, that's good to hear," she said cockily before her screen disappeared, "I'll be sure to give word of this interrogation to Yellow Diamond and make preparations for Earth."
I watched on as she walked away from my cell without a care in the world. I was furious. I sprang to my feet and ran as close to her as I can.
"What about my freedom? Aren't you going to let me out?!" I shouted. She had made this promise, and I expected her to keep it.
"I did promise you your freedom, however, the authority to release you doesn't fall onto me," she said coldly as she walked out of sight, "that authority belongs to the Diamonds, your fate is in their hands."
