My dear, here's my love
Take it as a gift from above
I know you may not be able to give it back
What does she have that I lack?
I wish I was like her
Oh how I wish I was her
But you won't love me for me
But the girl I'm trying to be
It's hard to be unrequited and alone
I don't want to be on my own
For I know my heart yearns for your love
But I'm broke like I have crashed from above
Tell me that I am crazy
For loving you is not easy
I know that I am mad
For clinging to the chance that I never had
Your flaws I have accepted
Your mistakes I have disregarded
Why are people so blind
To the people whose acceptance they will find?
With you it's like a fast pace of night and day
One moment it's fine then the next you shoo me away
There are times when I want to choke you so hard
But then you smile and again I fall hard
Move on, let go, they say
But they don't know how you make my day
Maybe they're right, maybe they're wrong
Maybe I was just being stupid all along
I'm still waiting for the day that you'll realize
What you've given up for rolling the dice
You dare not say my love for you wasn't true
Because if I didn't, I wouldn't waste time writing this poem for you
