Four years ago I had this huge crush on someone
He was part of the varsity team
But I was not invisible to him even though I was just a girl with glasses
We were friends
Yet even with the closeness we had
He fell in love with my bestfriend
You are so beautiful.
Back in fifth grade, I had a bestfriend
She was the prettiest in the room
One guy flirted with her
I was just sitting beside my friend
When the guy said to me,
'There's no way guys would fall in love with you.'
You are so beautiful.
Last year, I met my ideal man
We were friends
We knew things about each other
Things that we never shared to other people but us
He made me happy and I felt
I did the same to him
But his heart could never forget her
She who couldn't be reached
Instead of me who was always reaching out
You are so beautiful.
Says the figure in the mirror
She says the line over and over again
I only stare back with my bloodshot eyes
I don't want to listen to her
Tears start to fall down
They are hot, boiled from the frustrations that are building up inside
I am beautiful
I want to believe it
But
Four years ago...
Back in fifth grade...
Last year...
