"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked. The sun was barely out. The curtains were open though. Little light came through. My back was against the door, I was sitting on the ground. I had cried all night but I couldn't anymore. My eyes hurt from all of the tears.

Sam's back thumped against the other side of the door. We were back to back, only the wooden door separated us. "I didn't want to hurt you," he said. "I want to make this better. I don't want to loose you," Sam sounded desperate. He had never sounded like that before.

"But you did hurt me," I snapped, "Telling the truth hurts but a lie makes everything seem fine and it's not."

"I know, baby. But I can't loose you. Even now it feels like you're ripping my heart out," Sammy said. "You did the same to me," I shook my head even though he couldn't see me. "I don't think we can do this. I don't want to tell you that you can't see her because I know you will anyway. And I don't know how I can trust you," I started crying again.

"Please let me in. Just let me hold you. I want to work this out but we're both exhausted and upset. I think we should wait until we're more awake before we say things we don't want to," Sam said.

I stood up and opened the door. Sam was already standing. When he saw my appearance he frowned. He hugged me to his chest. I took a deep breath of his cologne. He picked me up and we fell on to the bed. I turned around and we spooned. "I love you," he said. I didn't respond because if I did it would've been a lie. I didn't know if I still loved him or not.
