Ring (9/19/13)

I have something to tell you

And I don't know if you'll like it.

No matter how much you try to fix,

This engagement ring will never fit.

I really wish you wouldn't cry

Because it's filling me with guilt.

I never wanted to tell you

About the lousy character that was built

Out of needles and tears,

Glued together with blood and belts.

I revolve around my fears

And relive everything I've ever felt.

We are like snow in the summer.

We don't make sense.

No matter how much you say it will work,

I still won't let you on the other side of the fence.

I don't know what kind of light

You see in my eyes,

But there's nothing in here worth saving.

All that walk this heart are lies.

This engagement ring will never fit,

No matter how much you try.

Now that I've said it,

I know that you didn't like it,

And you don't want to say goodbye.
