Friendship Ring

(Y/N's POV)

Ray got up and went into the bathroom to shower. I layed there covered up under the blanket.

I got myself and Amir dressed, because I was taking him on a play date with Jasmine and her little sister, Kendoll. 

"Hey, we're leaving." I told Ray.

"Where you going?" He asked. It's not like he cared. I mean literally, he was sitting there on the couch, eyes glued to the TV, playing GTA5. 

"I'm taking Amir on a play date."

He said nothing in return. I grabbed the keys and headed out the door. 

Once I got Amir buckled into his car seat, Ray came running out the house. "Aye!" He said.

I turned around. "What?" I asked.

He gave me a quick kiss. "See you later bae." He ran back in the house.

I smiled and got in the car. 

My phone rang, but it didn't have a specific ring tone. It was an unsaved number. "Hello?" I answered. 

"Wassup? You don't know how to call no more?" The person spoke. By the tone of their voice, I could tell it was none other than Xavier. I giggled into the phone. 

"I'm sorry. I just been busy lately." I answered. I backed out of the driveway.

"I miss you girl." 

I hesitated to respond, but he cut my thoughts short.

"I understand if you don't feel the same, but aye, I wanted to see you today."

"I can't right now..."

"Later today." 

"Where at?" 

"My house. I got something for you." 

"Uh, OK. I guess I can do that. I'll see you later then." I said.

We both hung up as I pulled up to this kids playground Jassy told me to meet her at. I got out the car, and got Amir. I saw Jassy sitting on a nearby bench on her phone, with Kendoll playing right beside her.

"Hey" I said, as I walked up.

"Hey"

"What's up? What you doing?" I asked.

"Girl, nothing. Waiting on my brother to come pick up Kendoll."

"What time he coming?"

"About 6:00."

It was only 4:35 right now.

"Kendoooooll!" I said, giving her the biggest hug ever.

"Hi Y/N :)" She said.

I put Amir down, so him and her can play together.

*Later

I went home and Ray was still playing this dumb ass game, except now he was with Roc. 

"I'll be right back. I'm leaving my baby here. Please, don't starve him." I said, looking at the both of them.

They nodded their heads, and continued to play the game.

I walked over to the TV, and unplugged the screen. 

"WHY YOU DO THAT?" Ray semi-yelled.

"NOOOOOO!" Roc actually yelled.

I laughed to myself. "Did you here what I said?" I asked them.

"You said your leaving Amir here." Ray said.

"And not the let him starve." Roc stated.

"Now mooooove!" They both yelled. They plugged the tv back up, and I left.

As I got in the car, I dialed Xavier's number. "Wassup?" He answered.

"I'm on my way." I said.

I pulled into his driveway. He came outside as I got out the car. 

"What you got for me?" I asked, kind of in a hurried tone.

"Why you in such a rush?" He asked.

"Because, I just left my baby in terrible hands and I need to get back to him fast. " I chuckled.

He smiled, "C'mere." He grabbed my hand and pulled me into his room. He went to his dresser, and pulled out a nice black box.

"What's that?" I asked.

He opened it. It was the most beautiful ring I have ever seen. 

Please, don't let him propose.

"It's a friendship ring. Well at least, that's what I call it." He said, admiring it. "I saw it, and I instantly thought of you. I don't know why, but I just did."

He slipped the ring onto my finger.

"It's special to me. I hope it means something to you." He said.

"It's really pretty." I said, lost for words. "You know, you didn't have to buy this for me..."

"Aye, what I tell you last time you saw me?"

"You said 'being friends with you, I'll never walk around without a little change in my pocket or something to flash on my WRIST.'"

"And yo fingers." We both laughed.

"What's with you and the friendship gifts?"

"Me and you go way back. You was my favorite person to see everyday, chill with, joke around with, and anything else you can think of, believe it or not. I just don't want all that to go down the drain, ya know?" 

I nodded my head in agreement.

"I know I fucked up with that kiss back then, but just give me another chance. I promise I won't mess this one up." He said smiling.

"That was really cute. I GUESS we can give it another try."

"You guess?" He asked.

"That's what i said. And don't try no sneaky shit either." I said. we both laughed.

"I got you." He said.

"But, aye I gotta go." I said. I gave him a hug and left.

I got home, and hurried into the house.

They were still sitting in the same spot. Playing the same game. 

"Umm, where is Amir?" I asked.

"Sleep." They both said.

I stared at them annoyed. "I hate you both." I said.

"Roc take yo ass home! And Ray, come to bed!" 

*20 Minutes Later

Ray walked in the room, and started taking off his clothes. I was putting my hair up, when he walked up behind me.

"Where you get that ring from?" He asked.

"uh.. A friend." I said.

"It better be a girl friend you talkin about." He said. 

"Ray, chill. It's just an old friend." I said. He got in bed. 

I went to check on Amir. Thankfully, he was sleep.

I went back into my room, and cuddled up next to Ray.
