The New Boy

The Big Ask

When prom season rolls around every girl dreams of the big ask. They all dream of what they are going to wear, how they will do their makeup, and how he will ask. In my opinion I think promPosals are stupid. I just want one proposal in my life and that's when someone asks me to marry them. So, for prom i'm not expecting much. Just a simple ask, and i'm hoping i'll get asked by Alex. Were dating, but I still expect him to at least ask me.

I had a dream last night that he gave me a big ask and I ran away without giving him an answer, and I never did give him an answer so I ended up not going to prom. Alex and I broke up he went to prom with a cheerleader and I ended up dying alone with 4 cats. I know that that most likely won't happen because i'm allergic to cats, and I wouldn't run away if he gives me a PromPosal i'll just be embarrassed. When I woke up I didn't text Alex bout my dream, because if he was planning on a big ask I didn't want to ruin it. So, I got up did my makeup and got dressed. Then I went down stairs ate. By then alex showed up and we were on our way to school. He asked "Do you like cake?"

"Uhh yeah why?"

"What kind of cake is your favorite?"

"Chocolate... Why?"

"It was just a question... calm yourself."

"Okay"

We got to school he kissed me on my forehead and we went to first period. I went to all my morning classes, but on my way to lunch I saw a PromPosal, so I stopped to watch. I started to walk away when I heard my name. It wasn't a voice I have heard before, or if I have heard it I don't remember it.

"Anna?" The tall guy said gasping for breath. I'm guessing he was running.

"Uh yeah thats me, Whats up?" When the person got closer I saw that it was Todd from my fourth period math class.

"You need to follow me."

"Why?"

"Just do it."

"Fine"

I followed him through the courtyard to the front of the school where the cars park. We got to his car and he got inside, unlocked the other door, and told me to get in. I did it without questions. If he were to kill me, oh well. We drove for about 3 minutes till he pulled over and told me to put a blindfold on. By then I got scared, so I went for the door to open it and get out, but Todd had something to say about that.

"What are you doing?"

"Leaving, i'll walk back to the school. This is too sketchy"

"Anna, it is very important that I get you to this place. Not to me but it is important. Now put on the blindfold and shut up" He said the last part with a giggle.

"Ugh fine."

So I put the blindfold on and sat there. I felt the car turn then drive for a second then the car stopped. Todd got out of the car, and came to my side. He helped me out of the car then he guided me to a spot. He left. I was standing somewhere all alone I had no clue where I was. I was going to lift the blindfold, but then I heard music start to play. I've heard this music before it was Alex playing his guitar. He came up to me and slowly pulled the blindfold off.

"Your eyes are so gorgeous" were his first word to me.

"Thank you."

He started playing guitar again, but this time he started singing. I listened to the whole song. It was such a good song, and I think it was written for me. The song was almost over, and his last verse of the song was "Anna will you please go to prom with me?"

I jumped up and down, and then I said yes! Once I said yes he brought out a chocolate cake with the words "She said yes" written on it.  We ate some cake then went back to the school to finish the day.
