Katherine Burnett’s eyes opened slowly and she could see two figures above her. One had dear familiar features and the other had a tense worried face and she knew that this was a face worried about someone he loved. “Katherine,” the the word came out like a sigh. Her eyes opened wider to see she was laying on grass and above her was a stormy night sky the clouds seemed full and gray like they were about to let the rain fall. She heard the distand rumble of thuder and then the whisper of many voices above her. She slowly propped herself up on her elbows and became aware of werid sensation at her back. She looked back to see huge gentle wings the color of ebony she flexed muscle she never knew she had before and they began to softly beat. She looked up to see a few familiar faces and a sea of strangers. Then she blinked and rubbed her eyes and looked again all the people were still here and they still had wings.

It was a rainbow of colors. Pinks, golds, dark blues, light blues, oranges, purples, whites, and even reds. But no ebonys she noted before carefully climbing to her feet and staring at the strangers. Four people moved out of the crowd and toward her. She recogized three of them but not the fourth and she noticed the fourth didn’t have any wings at all. She tremebled as all faces turned to her and she looked for one. She found him standing lsightly apart from the crowd. A choked cry came from her throat and she found herself scrambling toward him breaking into a run she slammed into him and felt his arms wrap around her and wings come up and around her.

“You’re here,” she said quietly embracing him tightly and feeling the stare of thousands burning into her back but she didn’t care she felt his cheek rest on the top of her head.

“I’m here,” he murmrued. “I’m here.”  She felt tears well up in her eyes and quetly spill down her cheeks as her memory returned slowly hesitantly. After a few long minutes of embracing she stepepd back wiping her tears away and turn to the ones behind her.

“Michael.” She whispered seeing him standing next to a tree a few feet from her he nodded and she ran toward him embracing him almost as tightly as she’d embraced Lucifer. She felt his arms wrap tightly around her and his golden wings erupt from his back and surrond them in gold radiance. She buried her face in his neck and whispered words to him.

“Thank you,” she hugged him for a moment longer before turing to the third person and hugged him tightly his arms hugged her back easily. “Thank you, Aaron.” She stepped back smiling radiatnly before a pain in her chest erupted she bore it silently but it drove her to her knees and she felt arms around her and looked up into familiar black eyes. She wrapped an arm around his back and felt his lips come ot hers sweetly for a moments before he drew away. His black wings bursting from the skin of his back and began to beat sending gusts of wind swirling around her and she felt it hug her as her own wings began to softly beat but she stopped looking at the fourth stranger.

She stepepd toward him and the wind stopped all the angels gathered there seemed to be holding their breaths. Katherine looked earnestly into the mans face. His eyes were bluer than the tropical seas, his white hair was short and he was clothed in white robes. He moved toward her his eyes lockign on hers. “Katherine Burnett.” His voice she fell to her knees before him her ebony wings stilling and shrinking into her back. His voice was like the sound of little ocean waves rolling smoothly in the endless ocean of eternity.

“Yes?” She looked up to see him lean toward and put his hand on her forehead just for a moment and her sense were soothed and quieted. Suddenyl she knew from the deepest part of her soul this was Him the one who created her and the one who cursed her. She stood her ebony growing out again and this time they grew larger so they fanned out over the heads of Michael, Aaron, and Lucifer.

He tilted his head at her His blue eyes curious at this display. When she spoke her voice rang clearly out over the angels. “You are the one that cursed me.” Her voice was clear and high.
