Lost Time (#Wattys2016)

The First Trial

It was night , around 10 PM on June 15 of 2110. I received a call from Keith

"Hey Mark!" He said eagerly

"What is it? I was about to sleep" I said

"I want you to come over here in my Office! The project is complete!" He said

"Maybe you could show it tomorrow? I'm tired" I said

"Come on! It's just for tonight, Please come" He begged

"Fine , I'll go" I said

Although I was tired, I still agreed to go, It's just so rare to see Keith be hyped and eager about something, so I changed my clothes , left my apartment and I drove to his office, It was the first time I actually went on their building, It was pretty small and it really didn't match my expectations since Keith said their project was really big 

I parked my car and proceeded to go to their Office, Before I entered the door, I felt like as if someone is following me or watching me, but I shrugged it off, It's probably because I'm tired. I entered the office and found Keith waiting for me by the door

"So where is it?" I asked

"It's not here" He replied

"and you disturbed me when I'm going to sleep" I said

"We'll have to go somewhere , It's a big project and It can't fit here" He said

He stood up and left the building and I followed him, I entered his car, It was dirty and things were scattered around, He started driving and he brought us to a big old building

"What is this?" I asked

"This is where the project is" He replied

"In an old public library?" I said

"Yes, We bought this to cover the real project" He said

"and who is "We"? aren't you just like about 8-9 People?"

"Oh no, We are XILs , We are a part of a company that helps fund Projects that are revolutionary"

It may look like an old building outside but on the inside, It is like the future, The moment you walk in the building, it fully scans you in a fraction of a second, your fingerprints, your eyes and even your Blood and DNA, It even triggered an alarm since I was not registered in it's database

I followed him, it was a kinda long walk before we reach our destination, I see some big metal shields that are supposed to withstand Military Attacks, there are also many Biometric Scanners along the way. I can't believe the XIL bought all of these , These must have cost a fortune

We finally reached the end of the hallway and Keith opened a big door

"Here it is Mark" He said with a big smile

I see right in front of me , a large Machine or whatsoever 

"What is this? and what is it supposed to do?" I asked

"It's the world's first Super Quantum Computer , Aside from the Supercomputers and Quantum Computers we have today, This is a Hybrid between them and this makes it possible to compute much more data at faster speeds, But that's not the main attraction here , This computer is just a part of something bigger, Follow me I'll show you"  He said 

I followed him to another room where all the wires of his "Super Quantum Computer" is leading to

"This is the real invention!" He said

I see a pod with all the wires connected to it

"What is this" I asked him for the 3rd Time in an Hour tonight
