Wherefore

Mary shouts no while Keith proceeds to shoot me but in the nick of time, I managed to stop time to prevent the bullet from hitting me. I walk away as the bullet is like only a small dust away from hitting my forehead. It also scares me how Keith aimed so accurately to shoot at my head, showing how much he wants to kill me  

First thing I decided to do was to divert the bullet, I mean I've seen it many times on movies, so it should probably work then I tried to wake Mary up by holding her and thinking to wake her up, but it doesn't work, I guess my abilities do have limits. After that I decided to resume time, I received a painful headache and my nose started to bleed 

"What the...?!" said Keith

He continues shooting me and I keep stopping and resuming time to deflect all his shots until his Magazine is empty. After all that, I feel really bad, I was exhausted, my head hurts and the blood from my nose was already dripping through my neck, also, that 30 seconds of Keith shooting me felt like 15 minutes because I had to deflect all his shots

I almost fell to the ground but Mary ran to me and caught me. She pulled out a handkerchief and she wiped my blood off. Mary helps me up while Keith is just staring at me with Disappointment and Anger. Mary pulls me while I try to stop for a moment to talk to Keith

then Keith shouted "Just remember Mark! You chose the wrong side!"

I didn't try to stop anymore, I just ran towards the forest with Mary even though I still didn't feel good, I look back and I see Armed Soldiers stopped by Keith and letting us go. I just followed Mary, I just kept running, not looking back anymore. We eventually got to the edge of the forest and It was a highway and I see a parked car

"Get in quick!" said Mary

I got into her car and we left. It was silent for the first moments in the car until I had the courage to speak up

"Hey Mary, How did you know where I was?" I asked

"I actually went to your house to ask you more about some stuff, but you weren't there, So I went back the following day, but you still weren't there, So I went to our System and checked the Security Cams to know your whereabouts, I saw you were tranquilized and you were Kidnapped, so I just followed where the truck that you were in went" She replied

"Is that so. But how did you know about Keith" I ask

"Oh, It's a very long story, I'll tell you about it in my apartment" She replied

It was about 30 more minutes of driving and silence before we got to her apartment, Her apartment is actually just 3 blocks away from my apartment, I got inside her apartment, It was a little bigger than mine and her room was full of crime cases then she asked me to sit by the sofa

"So do you want to know?" She said

"Yes" I said

"Just believe what I say okay? You might think I'm crazy" She said

"I've already seen and heard crazy things, I believe you" I said

"Okay, So everything started when I was 12 or something, My family was religious and we always liked to help other people. Me and my sisters, We were always volunteers for Disasters or other things that happen. You with me so far?" She said

"Yes" I replied

"So one day, about thirteen years ago, We heard there was an explosion in a nearby mall and we went there to find and help the survivors, when we got there, It was raining, not only water but also ashes, the whole area was covered in smoke. Us volunteers were told to split up and search the area for survivors" She said

"Then what happened?" I asked

"Out of the smoke, I see a man in a hoodie, I was about to tell the others but he said not to, then he said, that he need me to help somebody 13 years later, I asked why, then he held my forehead, then he showed me an alternate future that will happen if I don't help this certain man, It was horrible, everyone became slaves, we were enslaved to a certain family who has control of time and they will kill anybody in their way and one of the family members was Keith, I was scared immediately, I asked him who he is, but he didn't answer, although he gave me a photograph and shown me who is that one that I should help, then he mysteriously left, then I continued searching for survivors, I eventually saw 2 brothers and I helped them and It was you and Keith and ever since then, I followed you and eventually joining the Police force even though my whole family became nurses, so that I can have access to resources that I would need in the future. You got all of that?" She said

"Yes , I did and Thank You, I never got to thank you 13 years ago" I said

"No problem. Anyways, what will you do? how will you stop that from happening?" She asked

"I don't know, I guess, the problem will just show up for me solve it" I said

"I have a question though, How did you survive all of Keith's shots earlier? did you have a force field or something?" She asked

"It might seem crazy, but I have abilities to control time. I kept stopping and resuming time to deflect all of Keith's shots" I said

"But how?" She said

"I  don't know either but I have a guess that it's from the crystal that Keith uses to go back and forth in time with the Project Xynox" I said

she nodded then she said "Okay, we should probably rest"

She brought me to her Guest room and gave me some spare clothes then she told me to sleep and that we'll just think about we should do tomorrow morning, So I changed my clothes and went to bed, but I couldn't sleep properly, I was thinking about Keith, about what he's done and what he'll do but eventually I fell asleep.
