Kaira's POV
Something felt different. I've been going for 3 years without Roree, but it feels like I lost him all over again.
By now I figured out what I want. I want my best friend again. And knowing I can go back, maybe to the life I lived before the crash, was in a way, bliss.
If I went with or without my memories from the last few years I wouldn't be mad either way. It would definitely have a life lesson somewhere in all of that.
"She never did tell me her name. At least I don't remember if she said my name or not. It wasn't really important at the time." I said out loud talking to myself. "Maybe if I'm just like 'hey lady, I've made up my decision. I want to leave. I feel like I need to leave.' Yeah maybe something like that would work."
I get it, it was like I was going crazy. Talking to myself and all, but whatever.
"That's all you needed to say. But I need to warn you of the consequences of the choice you make right here, right now." She gave me a look. I don't know how to describe that look, but it was as if she were leveling with me. Seeing how truthful or not I'm being.
"Okay, so lay them on me." I tell her crossing my arms and hold a straight face.
"You can't change your mind. After it's started you can't stop it. I can't do anything to change it, even if I'm Fate. But at the end of all this you might be happy, you might not." I heard her, and I fully excepted the rules. Even if she wasn't finished I had made up my mind a while ago.
"Okay I get it." I may have cut her off, but I wasn't paying much attention to her anyways. "I've made up my choice and I'll follow through with it no matter the outcome." She seemed pleased by my statement.
She started moving her hands around in a circle, creating a black ball within the gaps of her fingers. The black lines moving throughout and around her hands slowly started to go to the middle, actually creating a full ball. Then she threw it at me.
It came at me in slow motion, or maybe not but it sure did seem like it. As soon as it touched my skin all I felt was the searing pain of fire on my chest. It slowly got worse as it crashed into my chest, causing the flames to lick all over. It created a huge burn covering most of, if not all of my torso.
I cried out in pain. The burn on my skin made it so I could only see black spots covering my vision. It was slowly going black, I was slowly falling forward, but was caught by someone.
I look up and through the black I saw the Reaper.
"So I see you've made up your mind about staying here or not." Then he laughed as if I wasn't burning in pain. Although this kind of thing could happen to anyone.
"I'm almost there aren't I?" I asked.
"Yeah you are."was all he sale, then everything went black and I was out.
