Jacqui's Story

Chapter 10

Leo's Pov
"Dont you dare fall in love with this one, like you did last time! I won't be having any of that behaviour. If that's the case, then I guess I might have to kill her like the last one!" Mark shouts.
I flinch at his sharp tone, and he must've seen because he lowers his voice. "Mate I'm sorry that I had to kill her, and I'm sorry that I am being harsh." He says. "It's okay, I guess she wasn't the right one for me anyways..." I trail off. I look down at my feet.

"Leo, I'm still your dad and I love you. Don't you ever forget that, I'm sorry for hurting you in the past." Mark says. As he said that I trail a hand on one of the scars that I got when he burnt me. I run my fingers along the long scar on my chest which was made with a knife.
" I don't know if I trust you..." I say.
Mark looks down with dissapointment in his eyes but then it's covered up by pain.

I walk away without saying another word. I go into the kitchen and grab an Apple and a bag of lollies. I also grab a water out of the fridge. I walk back into the room that Jacqui is in and I hand her the food and the water.
"Thank you." She says. I smile at her.
She eats the Apple quickly and drinks some water. She then opens the pack of lollies and eats some. She offers me some and I decline her offer. She finishs the bag of lollies and drains all the water from the bottle. She hands me the empty packet of lollies, the Apple core and the empty water bottle.

"Would you like anything else?" I ask kindly.
"No thanks, I'm full now. But thanks anyway." She replies with. I nod my head and walk outside the room, I put the rubbish in the bin and on my way back I grab some shirts of mine, a blanket and a pillow for Jacqui, seeing as she will be staying for a bit.

I walk back into the room and see that Jacqui is asleep. I put the pillow on the bed and lift Jacqui off the metal chair and lay her gently on the bed. I put the blanket on her and I close the door.
I overhear my father talking on the phone to one of his friends.
"Yes I can give her to you in a week, after I have to finished punishing her." My father says.
I can hear the other person but they must've ended the conversation because Mark hangs up. I quickly walk into the room that Jacqui is in and I see that blahs is proped up against the bedhead sitting up with her legs crossed. She must've seen the horror in my eyes because she gets up and hugs me.

"Leo what's wrong? You have a pained look in your eyes." Jacqui says. "I overheard my dad talking to one of his mates and he is going to punish you for a week then give you to his mate and his mate isn't very nice. We have to get you out of here now." I say.
I look at him in horror.
"I will get you out of here at sunset tonight." I say. She replies with a swift nod of her head in agreement. Before I leave to get things ready, she grabs my arm and I turn around.

"Thank you Leo, for everything,I mean it. But promise me one thing." She says. I look over at her with a questionable look on my face.
"Please make sure that you get out of here and away from your dad, please for your own safety?" She asks me.

"Yes I will, I was planning on it for a long time... But I never got to it, especially with you coming and stuff." I reply with.

"So we leave at sunset tonight?" She asks me.
I nod my head and I walk out the door.
