part twelve

The boy on the table hadn't taken a breath in 30 minutes. His heartbeat was gone. The doctors backed off, but one of the nurses stayed in the room to watch him, just to be sure.

He looked terrified, even though he was unconscious and not breathing. It was hard to look at him.

"Tyler," the nurse said out loud. Tyler Joseph.
The lead singer of her favorite band.
Her hero.

There were dark burns across most of his chest, and scratches and cuts. No one knew what happened. It looked like he'd caught on fire and then fell down a mountain, inside and out, but only on his chest.

His head, face, arms, and legs were perfectly fine. Only his torso was hurt. And the only person who had any clue what happened had run off.

Did he do it, then? Blurry? Could Blurryface do this?

There was a choking noise, and the nurse snapped back into reality.
Tyler was shaking violently, eyes rolling back.

A flurry of people sprinted into the room.

Tyler Joseph was alive.
