The Getaway• Chapter 23.

I tapped my foot intensively as I stared the clock down. It must hate me, obviously, if it has barely moved the past half hour that I've been staring at it. Giving the teacher and my pounding heart no attention at all. It should feel lucky, but yet it doesn't move.

"Hey." I heard someone whisper from behind me. I turned around and came face to face with the person I've been avoiding. "Selena right?" I nodded and he smiled.

"Do you have a pencil I can borrow?" Rich asked, showing me that there was no more led in his pencil.

Before I could answer, the girl sitting across from him - Cheyenne I think, handed him a pencil. "Take mine, Richie." She cooed, sending him a flirtatious smile.

I rolled my eyes and decided that it would just be better if I turned around.

"Okay does everyone have their papers passed forward?" Mrs. Denise asked, eyeing the classroom while putting something in a paper clip. Various nods and yes' were said.

"Selena, you can turn yours in tomorrow." She said. I nodded and smiled sweetly.

Throughout the whole day I was packed with homework. I guess that's what Junior year does to you.

After the teacher got done passing out yet, another assignment, the bell finally rang. I sighed in relief, leaning over so I could shove everything in my bag.

I gathered all my things, and was about to leave the room when a voice stopped me.

"Hey Selena! Can I talk to you for a minute?" Rich asked, walking up to me with that same smile. I noticed how he had both his hands wrapped around his strap again.

"Uh yeah, sure." I replied while returning the smile. But something told me that it had to do with what Cole said to him this morning.

"Your friend Cole, I think." He started with raised eyebrows. "He told me this morning that you were interested in being in drama club."

"I am?" Then suddenly an idea popped in my mind. So did that Cheyenne girl, which made this plan all the more worthwhile.

"I mean, of course. Is there try outs or something?"

He nodded and pointed to a sheet on the door. "Actually that's why I wanted to talk to you. We're doing a play about this angel and the girl that was supposed to play it, dropped out and that's when I thought that you'd be perfect for it."

"Okay. I think I can do that."

"Awesome! The first practice for you will be on Wednesday." He replied, handing me a piece of paper. "Here's my number, text me if you have any questions."

I think I just scored without doing anything.

Once he left, I looked at the sheet. It basically stated the main information, and the cast. I thought it would be especially fun with Rich playing the lead male role. This plan has to work.

Smiling to myself, I adjusted my bag on my shoulder and met up with Cole, Hunter, and Zoe, one of the other dancers.

"Jesus! You took forever!" Zoe groaned while pushing herself off of Cole's car.

"Blame Cole over here for that." I said punching his shoulder. "But thank you."

"For what?" He asked, slinging his arm over my shoulder.

"You," I said pointing at him, "got me closer to Rich."

Instead of going home, I texted my mom and decided to head to the warehouse with the rest of the guys. Considering that I needed to really work on my dancing anyway.

We all threw our bags to the side, besides Zach who thinks he's too cool for one, and began stretching.

"Okay," Hunter said after changing into a tank top and sweats. I watched as she clapped her hands together and began eyeing us. "Selena, you can stand infront with me today. And the rest of you go to your normal spots!"

Cole quickly jogged over to the stereo and switched it on.

"5 6 7 8." Hunter shouted, snapping her fingers with each number. As soon as the music started, I felt my body copying Hunters every move. And I found this much easier.

Moving to the right, I wound up behind Cole who grabbed my arms and swung me under his legs. Making me stand next to Hunter again, copying her.

Once the song ended, everyone immediately sighed and went straight for their water. Hunter must work them a lot. Especially if they're all already on the floor.

"How much dancing do you guys do?" I questioned.

"Too much." Cole said standing up, brushing his pants off. "Don't worry, you'll be doing just as much soon, geek princess." He smirked while patting my shoulder.

That got me thinking. What the hell did I get myself into?

(Should I do it in Justin's POV next chapter?)
