Chapter Twenty-Seven.

The Getaway• Chapter 27.

I don't know why, but the next morning I woke up with a pounding headache. It might just be from too much thinking, or from that psycho Bo screaming in my ear too much.

Yeah, I'm still not over that.

Not wanting to deal with it any longer, I quietly headed down stairs and took some ibuprofen. I didn't really know what I wanted to do today, after all it was Saturday. I still needed to tell Rich about the play, but since Cole got in that accident I think we're going to cancel that dance performance in.. wherever. Considering they still won't tell me.

I guess it's a good thing since I didn't know how I was going to tell him.

Deciding that I was gonna spend the day to myself, I turned on the tv. Just as I was about to sit down, my phone started vibrating on the table.

"Hello?" I answered, not bothering to check who the caller was.

"Selena! Guess what!" That familiar high pitched voice screamed through the other line. Cursing under my breath, I pulled the phone away from my ear and looked to see who it was. Alex.

"What the hell?" I snapped.

"You'll never believe it!" She screamed again. But this time I heard voices in the background, she was probably at a bar and drunk.

"Just.. just stop screaming! You're drunk!" I said, holding my now, once again pounding head. "I'm hanging up."

"No wait," before she got to finish what she was saying, I already hung up. Sighing in relief, I landed on the couch.

That reminds me, I really need to change my number. I was now regretting hanging up on her, a part of me really wanted to know what she had to say. Because there was no other reason that she would've called me. Well, of course she was drunk but that was beside the point.

Flipping through the channels, I looked up to see my mom come out of her room. "Morning," she said and opened the fridge. "What are you up to?"

"Watching tv for the day, I guess." I shrugged. She nodded as she poured cereal in a bowl.

"The neighbors came by while you were gone yesterday. They're having some sort of cook out and said they'd appreciate it if we came."

"Do I have to go?" I probably sounded like a little kid, but I honestly didn't care. I didn't wanna show up at some random persons cook out, that's weird.

"No but just a thought." I nodded and scooted over on the couch, making room for my mom to sit.

"So how's that Cole kid, you guys still performing.. yeah, you still never told me where." Because I didn't know either.

"I don't know, probably still in the same condition," I replied, turning off the tv seeing as nothing was on. "And probably not. But that just means I can do the play and not let Rich and Ms. Monroe down."

"That's good."

I was about to reply when there was a knock on the door. "I got it."

"Hey, can you come with me?" Hunter asked with a smile.

"Uh, sure I guess. Just let me get ready." I said and opened the door wider so she could come in.

"Okay ill be down here."

"So where exactly are we going?" I asked Hunter as we made our way down the quiet streets.

"There's a festival in town, Cara asked me to go." She replied.

"Oh. I haven't heard of it."

"Neither have I, apparently it's new this year." As she spoke, I could hear the loud music in the distance. At least it sounded like fun.

By the time that we got there, it was crowded. I mean you'd be lucky to find a path way in this mess. It didn't help with the fact that it reeked of alcohol and that there was shit littered all over that place.

I was thankful when Hunter pulled me into a somewhat open area in front of a huge stage. On it, were incredible dancers. I can see why Cara wanted us to come here.

"Hey guys." I looked over to see Cara smiling at us with a drink in her hand. "Crazy, isn't it?"

"You're telling me, I'm going to go home reeking of this shit." I cringed and Hunter laughed.

"She still has yet to learn." Hunter smirked as she patted my back.

(Ah, sorry I haven't updated in forever ! I've been sick and this week has been crazy. But thank you guys so much for 10k!! You guys are so amazing it's incredible.
