[ok guys, since wattpad does not allow me to italicize some words i am going to be using / to show when a word is italicized and it will end it another /. I will mostly use this when someone is thinking to themselves so it will go something like this
/....../ --- eg. /I can't believe this is happening to me/
the ... in between are like the words the person is thinking]

♠--Tip 4: If feelings of affection become involved, avoid the person as much as possible. It is unavoidable that you might give away your gentle feelings by simple gestures such as blushing or a compulsion to make contact with the said person. Hence, staying too close to the person can be a major hinderence to you cause.--♠

All hell broke loose. Or in Aliza's opinion anyways. /Maybe this is one of those moments i'm always reading about, you know? Where a character just wants the ground to open and gobble them up leaving no trace of them behind to end whatever confrontation they didn't want to face, because surely hell seems like the lesser of the evils then what they are facing?/
Aliza searched the ground for just such a hole. Alas, finding none, she had to think quickly and access her options. /Maybe I didn't hear right? Really, it wouldn't be amiss either, not after all the things that had been going wrong so far, I might even be losing my mind./ So she tried to be cursory about it and took another step, only to hear the same thing again.
"Aliza?"
OK, so she did hear it. It was not very relieving to know she was not losing her mind; in this case, she might even have welcomed that option as a good end to this...this...she could not exactly call it a bad situation, it was more along the lines of a catastrophe. /Yes, that is exactly what it was. A catastrophe!/
/Get your head out of those musing and try to think of a solution!/ She paused and looked around to see who was calling her name, when she was to all intent and purpose supposed to be Alex.
As she got a look at the guy who had called her name, she came to dead halt. Her mind reeled, and she was suspended on the only word that she got out before all other words she was thinking of were lodged somewhere at the bottom of her throat.
"You--"
Sure enough, she was looking at Quinlan. Her Ex! The very same Quinlan who had moved away after only going out with her for three months. Quinlan, who she had not seen for eight years now. /Shit!/
/Wait. He has not seen me for what? Eight years now? He knew about Alex, and he even sometimes hung-out with him as well./ Her mind finally geared, shifting to a semblance of normality. /He can't really tell if it's Alex or me! That's why he sounded hesitant./ Aliza attempted to turn her knowledge of the situation to her advantage.
"Who are y-wait, it Quinn...right? I almost didn't recognize you. Man, I haven't seen you since you moved from Buffalo. I didn't know you attended school here."
"Uh...wait...uh, your Alex? The last was said with a suspicious questioning tone. Quinlan was scrutinizing her face. She tried to look less suspect and boast over his questioning tone.
"Who else could it be? Wait, don't tell me, you thought I was Aliza? HAH, dude we don't look that alike! That's an insult man, and you haven't seen her for so many years, she's grown some. If you know what I mean." Finishing the bland joke off with a sly wink, Aliza almost choked at her own comment.
/Didn't think this day would come! On the bright side, now I can officially say that I saved myself, at my own expense! God, one day, a hundred years from now, maybe it won't feel so humiliating? Or I can always hope./ She resumed the conversation before Quinlan could ask another awkward question and introduced her companions who were quietly watching the exchange.
"Sorry guys, I don't know if you know Quinn. He was my sister's boyfriend before he moved." She waited patiently for someone, anyone, to respond to what she just said. Eventually she saw that Lucien was going to say something.
"Hi, I don't think you've ever been in any of my classes, but I'm Lucien, and this is Roan." He pointed with his chin towards Roan's direction. Roan finally said his greetings in response.
When Aliza noticed that Quinn was still looking at her, she shifted her footing. "We were going to the cafe, do you want to join us?"
"Uh...no, that's fine, I have someone waiting inside for me. It was nice meeting you again...Alex. If you talk to your sister, let her know I said hi." With that, Quinn moved forward and was out of their vision when he entered the cafe doors. /Well, that was awkward, for lack of a better word./ She darted quick glances at Lucien and Roan. When she saw them studying her, she put her bluster up and continued moving towards the cafe and they followed close behind her heels.
She did not want them knowing that Alex had a twin sister, as long as she could keep the "twin" away from the sister's image in their mind, she could continue this charade with a bit more ease. So she introduced the idea of having a sister-- just a sister -- not a twin. /God, now I know what they also meant by a rock and a hard place! Quinn you ass, why did you have to be here, at this school of all the school's in England?/ Since the 'hard rock' had moved out of sight and hopefully out of Lucien's and Roan's mind, she tried to put the 'hard place,' -- mainly her situation -- at ease with what they had just been a witness to.
"What a coincidence, I didn't think that I would ever meet him again. He used to date my sis when we...I mean she was in elementary school. They were together for some months when he moved. I don't think he told here where he moved to. She'll be /very/ surprised to know that he's here, with /me/." /If that wasn't the understatement of the year!/
The entered the cafe with none of them saying another word and lined up with the other students for food. When it was their turn, she put a hefty amount of spicy pasta on her plate, followed by a peppering of red dried peppers, and other assortment of spices on top of the pasta and grabbed a milk carton. She looked around and saw that Roan was already gesturing for her to join him on one of the tables by the floor to ceiling windows that lined the whole of the outer wall. She quickly made her way towards the table.

Lucien was left standing behind watching Alex's back. He stared down at his own plate and could see white rice with peas, corn, and chicken breast and remembered again the plate that Alex had been carrying. /Jiminy, but the guy is a spice addict!/ All Lucien had seen on his plate was a splatter of red from which sparse pieces of pasta strands were showing. He shook his head and joined Alex and Roan on the table.
The meal was passing quietly and it gave Lucien a chance to study Alex again without being too obvious. It seemed to have become his favorite pass-time he thought dryly. He tried to rationalize his odd reaction to Alex.
He had never felt like this before, and there was a nickering sense in the back of his head that kept buzzing whenever he was around. /Well, that could possibly be because the guy was small and looked too soft and I have never met any guy who's waist I could span with my hand./ He also remembered his -almost- kiss with Alex. /That has to be it! Maybe i'm thinking of him differently because I almost kissed a guy? I should just keep my cool about it and try to put that incident from my mind./ Happy with his deduction, he continued to eat his meal, a little more heartened to have a logical explanation for his recent behaviour.

Aliza was /very/ uncomfortable. She had felt her back prickling throughout the duration of the meal. It was almost as though someone was boring their eyes into her back. She turned slightly and her eyes connected with those of Quinn's and she almost choked on her pasta.
With a big smirk on his face; showcasing his perfect white teeth, he was looking directly at her.
