The Toa of fire let out a pleasant sigh, leaning back on his stool, sipping his cup of water as he looked over to his apprentice.
“Toa Tahu...” Kasai said softly, finishing the last of his meal. “Do you have any memory of who you were before you came here..?”
“Well uh...” Tahu said, thinking a moment. “No, I don’t. You’d think I would remember something by now… But still, nothing.” He shrugged. Tapping his mask, Tahu smirked. “Not like it matters.” He said. “I’m perfectly happy just living my life here on Okoto, sure knowing where I came from would be nice, but it’s not important anymore.”
“I see...” Kasai sighed, seeming relieved.
“Why did you ask?” Tahu questioned, raising a brow.
“I was beginning to think about my missing memories, I wanted to know if you were concerned about yours before worrying about my own loss of memory.” Kasai answered, brushing off his gauntlets as Tahu chuckled.
“You seem to look up to me.” Tahu said, lifting himself up off the stone chair.
“Yes Toa Tahu.” Kasai replied, standing up, picking up his sword and placing it upon his back. “We should be heading back then? I’m sure the protector of fire is waiting for us.”
“You’re right, we left a while ago.” Tahu nodded, pointing off into the direction they came from.
By the time they returned most of the torches had been blown out, and the okotan villagers had retreated to their homes. Even though the torches were out and the sun had set, the village was still illuminated by the glow of distant lava streams.
“Toa Tahu!”A voice called out as Narmoto made his way towards the two.
“Protector.” Kasai said, bowing.
“Narmoto, what are you doing awake?” Tahu asked, glancing around at the empty streets.
“I was waiting for the two of you.” Narmoto replied.
“Ahh, of course.” Tahu nodded.
“Indeed.” Narmoto said, nodding back. “Did you remember anything?” He asked, looking to Kasai.
“Yes Narmoto. I’ve remembered only my name.”
“Well what is it?”
“Kasai.”
“Kasai? Alright then. Well Kasai, feel free to stay with us as long as you may need.” Narmoto said, smiling behind his mask. “Come now, I’ll show the two of you where you’ll be staying.” Narmoto said, beginning to turn away.
“Wait.” Out from behind them a voice boomed, as Tahu, Kasai, and Narmoto turned to see who it was, they paused, a figure of blue and yellow energy emerging from nothing. The figure radiated light, a five pointed crown of blue energy forming out from the face.
“Ekimu?” Tahu asked, confused. “What happened to you?”
“Nothing.” The figure said, looking to Narmoto, then Kasai, and then Tahu. “I needed to deliver a message to you, so I generated this energy projection to do so.”
“Then where are you?” Tahu questioned.
“I’m at my forge currently, I’ve just returned. Listen Tahu, I need you to return to the city, I need to speak with all the Toa, in person.” Ekimu said, lifting a finger to Kasai. “And you, you come as well.”
“Y-yes sir.” Kasai nodded.
“Good.” Ekimu smirked. “I’ll see you soon then.” He said, fading away.
Narmoto gave a sigh, looking up at Tahu. “Seems like you Toa are always on the move.”
“Don’t worry Narmoto, we’ll be back soon.” Kasai smiled, placing a hand on the protector’s shoulder.
“Alright Kasai...” Narmoto nodded, watching as Kasai’s hand slipped off his shoulder.
“Let’s go Kasai, better to get there as soon as we can.” Tahu said, motioning for him to follow as he began making his way out of the village.
“Yes Toa.” Kasai nodded, running after Tahu.
“May the stars guide you.” Narmoto said, scratching his chin and turning away.
