Kasai jumped to his feet, running towards the phantom, his speed causing a shockwave to radiate from his original position
“That is what I wanted to see…” Zaltor said, forming a sword from shadows and clashing blades with Kasai, who was barely visible at his speed, attacking the phantom from all angles, trying to get past his defences. In this storm of blade strikes, scratches began to appear on his armor, he became irritated, shooting his hand out in front of him, grabbing Kasai by the neck “That was impressive…”
“Y...yeah? Well how about this…” Kasai smirked, kicking himself free and jumping back.
“Zaltor!” Miri called down to him, her hair flowing with the wind, twirling her sword, pointing it down as the twilight beast reared back.
“Burn!” Kasai said, throwing his swords into the air, the two blades forming an X directly above him as he raised a hand toward the sky.
“What are you two doing…?” Zaltor asked, looking behind him to Kasai.
“Putting an end to your vile existence.” The beast spoke, shadows and light leaking from his mouth.
The sun seemed to explode, a massive beam of white flame falling from the sky onto the Toa of fire, connecting Okoto and the stars for only a moment as Kasai lowered his hand to Zaltor, the pillar of flame blasting forward and engulfing him. At the same time, the twilight beast roared, shooting a bolt of shadow and light into the phantom’s back, a similar, but smaller bolt shooting out from Miri’s sword, hitting the Mask of Imitation directly.
Kasai pulled back, gasping as he shook his hand, trying to cool the red hot metal. “Gah! That might have been a little too much.”
“No, barely enough.” Mirishiki sighed, jumping off the beast’s back and landing on the ground.
“Barely enough?” I practically fried myself!”
“But you didn’t.” She replied, rolling her eyes and stepping towards the phantom’s smoldering remains.
“Careful.” Kasai said, moving closer.
“I know that.” Miri said, looking at him.
The twilight beast turned his head. “It is done…” He whipped his tail to the side, shadows opening up underneath him. “But your masters are in danger.”
“The Toa? What danger are they in?” Kasai asked, watching it sink into the shadows and vanish.
“We’ll need to hurry.” Mirishiki said, grabbing the Mask of Imitation, dropping it into shadow.
“Where’s the mask?” Kasai asked, watching it disappear.
“Safe until we get back to the city.” She answered, pausing as the ground shook, black clouds consuming the sky.
“What now..?” The Toa of fire questioned, looking up.
“The Toa are in trouble...We need to get back to the city.”
“Right.” Kasai nodded, running to traumatized Toa of jungle. “Siri, we’ve got to go!” As he stepped closer, her muffled crying became much clearer. “Siri…” He sighed.
“Kasai, we don’t have time.”
“Right, right…” He said, wrapping an arm around Siri and pulling her to her feet. “Come on.” Mirishiki glanced around, looking to the bodies of her fallen teammates, letting out a sigh as she snapped her fingers, the remains of Scraps’ body sinking into a black vortex. “What are you doing?” Kasai asked, watching her.
“Bringing him with us. Hopefully he can at least be saved.” She answered, looking ahead as a massive beam of purple light erupted over the horizon, shooting up into the sky. “We need to go...now…”
“Yeah…”
