I grabbed the broken piece of the bedframe and rushed at Gerard. Wooden stakes better kill vampires. Within a split second, I had Gerard pinned and the stake hovering above his heart.

"Wow, feisty. But I no you won't do it." He said.

"Do you want to test that theory?" I spat.

"Go ahead kill me, I'm already dead." Gerard said.

"I'm not going to kill you, Gerard--"

"I knew it!" He interrupted.

"Let me finish! I'm not going to kill you, that would be too nice. I'm gonna make sure you feel every little bit of pain you deserve and then let you starve and shrivel in the basement." I finished and I could hear him gulp. I moved the stake to the right and jabbed it into his chest. Gerard's eyes widened.

In a moment, it was as if a switch inside me flipped, and all I felt now was hatred. Not even that, just the strong desire to cause him pain. I grabbed the vervain-filled syringe from the ground and pumped it into him before grabbing him and locking him in the basement.

I walked back to grab my phone from the dresser and stepped over Pete's unmoving body on the ground. It's time to get some real food.
