Once a Christmas Eve
There was a couple
Loving and caring
Always out for a chuckle
But yet they were poor
No money for them
Making owns clothes
Always having to hem
But this day was special
For the girl with long hair
Flowing and beautiful
She just didn’t care
Except for the boy
With a gold pocket watch
Inherited for generations
But no love would be lost
So they finally meet
Upon Christmas Day
Snow on the ground
Such a beautiful place
But the girl waits
Now without locks
Instead now she has
A gold chain for a watch
And the boy has no way
From now on to tell time
He bought many combs
With his last dime
But they meet each other
And they stare in shock
How much they gave up
Was for lost
But then what was remembered
Was what this day was about
No presents or gifts but
About love no doubt
They hugged about how
Much they gave up
But more of the fact
Of how much they loved
