We stayed in silence the rest of the car ride.I started to recognize familiar structures the further we drove.When we stop at the hedge garden I say "Why are we stopping here?"Nora opens her car door and steps out.I do the same while holding Leo tightly to my chest."Why because darling you're almost 16.It's almost time for you to choose which side you pick.Monoky or Grancers?"She says.I blink at her.In the car ,before me bringing up Corey,she was saying how the Grancers committed crimes way past turpitude.Monoky seems like the way to go but what if it's a trick?I've been tricked too many times in my life to know what to do now."Neither."I simply say and then start walking down the pavement towards my aunt's cottage.Oh how i have a story to tell to Ali.

Nora comes running up beside me with her black high heels clicking each step she takes.It's as if she's takes hours to prink to get just how she looks."You can't just not choose either!"She says.I smile on the inside.I finally have her on edge."Well that's what I choose.I only just found out about my powers and my mother and this whole insane world now so excuse me for not wanting to choose either side.Which,by the way,both seem dull."I blow her a fake kiss as i reach the cottage."Wait!"she says trying to be a cunctator.

I go through the singular,windowless door and shut it back as quietly as I can.I see the clock hanging on the wall of the kitchen.To my aunt it will seem as if I took a two hour long walk.This day keeps on getting better and better.

I slip off my sneakers and undo the leash attached to Leo's blue collar.This whole thing with magic is so eldritch.A shiver runs up my spine as I feel someone behind me again.I spin around quickly and let go of a breath I didn't know I was holding.It's just my sister."You're in trouble with Merida."Ali says and skips off.I go to the window and see Nora miche away from the cottage.While trying to pull the curtains closed i knock down my aunts mosaic patterned painting.She's a painter so she's always at home to see me mess up in every way possible.I'm just lucky the painting didn't go into smithereens when I touched it.I seem to be very good at that.

Leo prances behind me as I walk into the kitchen where Merida is doing dishes."So are you going to tell me where you've been?"she says not turning around.She sounds serious but I know she's not when she says"Because if it's a boy you can tell me."I face palm,kind of relieved she's not mad."I told you i was just going for a walk.No boy evolved whatsoever."I say.

I'm not ready to ask my aunt if she knows about the magik world.If I asked and she had no idea what I was talking about then I would just seem crazy.I'm already strange enough being I was struck by lightning.

I leave the kitchen and run up the steps.I knock on my sisters door and she opens it.I take a deep breath and say"We need to talk"
