"Lucky for us, you don't have a lot of belongings yet," Kailas was saying, "So it should be easy to move everything into my room."
I lifted an eyebrow from where I was standing in front of his bathroom mirror brushing my teeth, my eyes flicking to the edge of the mirror where I could see his reflection standing in his bedroom through the open door, "I spend one night with you and now we're moving in together?" I teased him, speaking around the plastic toothbrush, and he laughed.
He was standing at his dresser, pulling out a change of clothes to wear for the day, "I would like you closer to me," he admitted without any ounce of embarrassment, "Is that a bad thing?"
I shrugged, "People might get weird ideas is all. Your men don't know we were childhood friends, they'll think I seduced you or something."
"You did."
"That's beside the point," I spit into the sink so I could talk better, then looked at him from over my shoulder, "Your people don't trust me, Kailas, I don't think they'd like it if I just moved into your room. They'd be nervous and on edge thinking I was trying to kill you every second of every day."
"Well you were-."
"That's beside the point, Kailas. I'm not anymore, but they don't know that," I rinsed off the toothbrush I'd taken from Kailas' medicine cabinet before filling a cup with water.
"You should get to know them, the people, the rebellion," Kailas said, pulling a shirt over his head, "They're your group now as much as they are mine."
I stared down into the cup I was holding, frowning. I doubted I'd be good at meeting new people, even if they were nice guys I was supposed to be fighting beside. They weren't going to like me no matter what, and if they learned I'd been sneaking around with their boss then they'd try to castrate me. A handful of attackers I could handle, but I doubted I'd get far if his entire rebellion came at me at once. Although, if Kailas really wanted me to... I could deal with it.
"I've been meaning to ask, by the way," Kailas called to me, "I was wondering is all."
"Hm?" I poured some of the water into my mouth as Kailas stepped into the bathroom, looking curious.
"Last night, you didn't let me go down on you," he asked, and water went everywhere as I spit it out from shock, but he didn't react to my reaction, "Why?"
"What?!" I coughed, wiping my mouth with my sleeve, "Wh-why would you even want to?!"
He looked confused at my question, leaning against the door frame, "What do you mean why? I wanted to pleasure you."
"You don't need to go down on someone to pleasure them," I said, turning away and setting the cup down before drying my face with a towel.
"There's a reason, right?" Kailas asked from behind me, "Did Con Rồng do something to you to make you hate it?"
"I-I don't hate it," I mumbled, leaning against the edge of the sink and staring down, "I think maybe... it would be fine, I'm sure it feels nice or whatever, but..."
"But?"
"I didn't want to make you do something you didn't want to do," I said finally, my knuckles going white as I tightened my grip on the sink. Saying it out loud sounded just as ridiculous as wanting to kill my friends to protect them.
At least his response made sense. He laughed at me. I couldn't blame him.
"So you made me stop because you thought I didn't want to do it?" he asked, and I blushed, looking off to the side and growling.
