Adalyn's P.O.V

"This is the part where you say 'thank you dad.'." I told Ashlyn.

"I already did. Like a thousand times!" She jumped around and Jenna laughed. "IM SO HY-"

We both cut her off. "Save your energy Ashlyn." Jenna sat her down. "Okay. I'm trusting you guys to get back safely and have fun, yeah?" Ash came downstairs and handed Ashlyn her car keys, she got grounded for a while.

"Thank you dad." She hugged him tightly. "Anything for my princess." He mumbled into her hair. "Thank you Mr. Irwin." Jenna said after they pulled away.

"Call me Ash and c'mere." He opened his arms for her. She giggled and hugged him too. "HAVE FUN!" Ash waved them off.

After they left, Ash looked at me. "Go get ready babe, I'm taking you out." He told me. "Really?!" I asked and he nodded.

"Reservation for two." He said in his 'radio man' voice. I giggled and ran upstairs. I got dressed over and over again, couldn't find anything.

"Here." He handed me a bag. "No!" I gasped. "Yes!" He chuckled and closed the door. Inside there was a little black dress (okay I'm 1D AF....) some heels that had a cute bow at the heel, some earrings and a matching necklace.

(I'm not very good at outfit descriptions and I apologize 😂😳.)

I got dressed and curled my hair and makeup.

I grabbed a mini purse I had and opened the door to me and Ash's shared bedroom and found him standing there with a rose in his hand.

"I didn't want to be that cliché, but not that douche-y." He told me shrugging.

"Ash." I giggled. "I feel like I don't take you out anymore, like I don't spend any time with you anymore. I want to. So much. I hope tonight can make up for that marathon I missed last week." He smiled weakly at me.

I hugged him tightly. "You were busy. I get it." I told him as we linked our arms together and walked out. It felt like my teenage years all over again.

I guess that's what they meant by Teenage Memories or what Avril meant by here's to never growing up.

"Oh and I'm sorry for being so cliché tonight." He told me as he opened the car door for me. "You're just being thoughtful." I giggled.

"Reservation for Irwin's." Ash told the waitress. She nodded. She lead us out to a beautiful balcony outside where you could see half the city.

"Wow." I said under my breath as I was walking with Ash. "You like it?" He asked, a little hint of nervousness in his voice. "I love it!" I said as we joined some couples outside.

We got the closest to the railing, where you could see it more clearly. The candles, the lights that shone above us, the roses and the moonlight made me feel so..... I don't even know how to explain it.

"Ad?" I looked right into his hazel eyes and he smiled his award winning smile. "T-thank you Ash. I-"

"For what?" He flashed his smile again.

After our dinner, he lead me out. "Where are we going?" I asked. "Here." He told me as we got close to a small lake.

"Ashton!" I covered my mouth with my hands. This guy helped us get on and gave us paddles. "Okay, this feels like the scene on The Little Mermaid, where is Sebastian?" I asked.

(Fun fact....... My crush's name was Sebastian 😂😆 both crushes I had, BOTH got girlfriends and I was just laughing at myself 😂 wow.)

He laughed. "Oh Adalyn." He started paddling. Even though there were more people on the lake, it felt like just us.

I'm feeling like a teen again.

"Okay, so I can't sing so that's the only thing I won't be able to do to make this feel like a dream..." He looked down.

"No no! First if all, you can sing, quit lying. Secondly, Ash. Look at all of this. This has been more than just a dream. Look at us! There are no words."

He stopped for a moment and held my hands. I gave him a kiss. "This was way better than last week's marathon." I mumbled into the kiss.
